What are you doing with the other 7 hours of the day?

Not sleeping lol

Too much other stuff going on in life. Plus I've never been a person to go to bed early. I can't seem to fall asleep before midnight and I start work at 5am with a half hour commute.

But what about the floors?

Yeah, no.
You can have my share of Chicago. I'll write you a note.

TWSS.

Laminate probably the way to go in today's day & age of laminates.

The one in whatever picture that was, was too dark though.

Floors too dark, kitchens too light.

Brooklyn-Queens day today. Public schools have off. True story
06-09-2016 , 09:59 AM
In civilized states, school's already out for the summer.

Give your kids more time...light floors are a recipe to have to wash your floors every day.

I chose that picture because it is more of a close up than whole room shots, so you can see the texture and detail. It is darker than I would want...

I think I'd probably end up somewhere around:

Also, I realize that this sounds nuts, but I like the feel of tile on my feet better than wood or laminate.

how it feels on your bare ass is all that matters tho, amirite

I thought that was the argument against natural stone countertops?

Stone countertops are fine and fun until someone chips a tooth.

Ceramic tiles can chip and crack pretty easily if you drop stuff on them like pots and pans. If you do go with tile everywhere, you need radiant heat. I hear it gets pretty cold there

My kitchen is just a bog standard flat pack with wood effect everything. Its not too bad to look at tho, and since I almost never use it I think it more than does the job.

My kitchen is a 70s nightmare with a green sink. It's hideous.

We're gonna need pics of kitchens up in here.

Mine's an 80s nightmare with custom oak cabinets in great shape that would be the first thing they'd rip out in any home reno show.
06-09-2016 , 11:17 AM
I thought it was a nice kitchen until I started watching HGTV
