That was an unbelievable hand last night when Troop shoved with Q2o preflop against villain's QQ knowing the board would run out Q5222. He put the villain on a full house but knew the 4th 2 was coming on the river since last Tuesday.

Good job on the write up. The video is the same you were referencing. It was pulled from YouTube but Jay the Genius recently uploaded it back to the internet.

I would like to point out that the poker boom wasn't until 2003 though (Moneymaker / hole cam poker boom) and it's effects weren't seen until the 2004 WSOP...at least that's how I understand it. Technically the hole card cam was used in 2002 but only in a very limited capacity.

Also, I understand your point that ballers shouldn't be renting but I think most of the people that live the baller lifestyle are the type that rent everything. Just look at how much props a 40 year old man receives ITT for renting a new apartment. Living without furniture is pretty much a 30k millionaire's way of life (Trooper is doing it without the $30k/yr salary).

On a somewhat related note I was recently watching the Full House episode titled "Misadventures in Babysitting" (don't ask why) and all the guys were playing a game of poker (Uncle Jesse, Joey, and Danny Tanner). They were using the super cheap plastic play chips. The game got cut short and the other guys made sure to grab their chips before leaving the house. I guess they thought the plastic chips had some sort of monetary value. Then Jesse's girl had no clue how to play 5 card draw, placing 4 of the cards face up (but I suppose that is a discussion to be had in a Full House poker strategy forum).

I think it's more indicative of scared money. Lots of regs I play with do this same thing, overbet/shove to take down a pot because they're afraid of being outdrawn, rather than playing for maximum value.
