Kind of reminds me of the movie Cable Guy. He needs to give it a rest.

Troop has either twice attracted creepies with free room offers, or he has re-attracted the same creepy, but either way we must all race for the hand sanitizer.

Troop, btw, I wasn't comparing you to TBC. TBC is, if nothing else, incomparable.

Winstar's chips are far dirtier than any of the chips you will find in the major Vegas poker rooms.

Trooper's plan is working. I am jonsing for the next video. We are all salivating until it comes out.

I noticed someone suggesting prop betting. I have heard Limon and Bart Hanson talk about propping a lot and it seems that it would lead you to hate poker but give you the opp to build a roll.

Only allowed in Cali though....

I am rooting for you and love the videos, but I believe you had 315 hours since April 10 when you quit the job and that is insanely low for someone trying to make a living. That is 4 months at 80 hours per month.

If I have read your posts correctly your monthly nut is around $1,700. You weren't even playing enough to make that if at $20/hr.

Why were the hours so low? I played over 200 in that time span and work full time and felt like I was playing less than I would like.

If you have an amazon kindle account, I'll gladly loan the title to you if interested.

Second, what software do you use for editing your videos? Heading to Vegas in a week and making a TR, would love to throw in some vlogs for it, but never used any type of editing software. Shout out to you in the TR if you can help me out

Monthly nut ~1300.
This is true. That's what I said haha. There are other reasons for some days of nit playing but keep in mind, the vlog isn't a detailed diary of my entire life :sly:

I've had many spans of beating the **** outta poker, only to get comfy and lazy and go bust. And to consider a 46k jackpot from 7 years ago is humorous. I have READILY ADMITTED to being lazy in the past and that this is a LIFE problem that I'm trying to rectify. Btw, none of the JP went to pits, maybe a few hundos.

As far as the last year goes, I have not been lazy. Between YouTube and poker, I'm working pretty hard. Still not hard enough though.
What up Trooper!

I've been following your story relatively closely.
I commented on your vlog perhaps 2 weeks ago about you being TIRED too much, and meant to comment further and then I saw this particular post and wanted to throw some more fodder out there.

If you are TIRED and also LAZY that is concerning, not just from a poker standpoint, but from a life standpoint. You are living your dream, you should be FULL OF LIFE. Why aren't you? You can't allow yourself to be lazy. I can't wait to wake up in the morning, and I'm not young, and my life is nowhere near as good as yours could/should be. I'm definitely nothing to aspire to, but I think you got to find that sort of inspiration and excitement in your life. Perhaps I'm off base, or your have a minor health issue that keeps you a bit on the lazy side, but I don't think you can afford or want to be that way.

I completely enjoy your vlogs so I hope you can get it together and keep the adventure moving.

trooper,

if you're inclined to share any details, i'm curious what were the obstacles that you encountered that prevented you from playing poker more often?

based on your monthly nut of $1,300 (my estimate of your monthly expenses were higher than expected), you needed to earn a profit of $43.33 per day playing poker to cover your monthly nut ($1,300/30=$43.33). this seems achievable.

based on the above information, your monthly expenses appear manageable without exposing your bankroll to any significant amount of risk. in other words, you didn't have to risk as much of your bankroll to achieve a profit of $43.33 per day.

it's likely that i'm missing the pieces to this puzzle, but i'm curious what would cause your bankroll to diminish at the rate that it did when a profit of $43.33 per day would cover your monthly nut?

I'm actually waiting for people to start quoting the girlfriend. She's the one telling him to stop playing poker! How come nobody ever quotes that bitch?

Breaking it down daily is pointless. The Trooper doesn't play daily nor does poker provide a steady daily, weekly, or even monthly income. If his expenses are $1300 per month then he needs to make at least $15,600 each and every year while having a poker roll and life roll sufficient enough to carry him through the periods of time he isn't profitable.

In my opinion, there are always unexpected costs that need to be taken care of. Thus even if that number is accurate. It is still too low.

you don't understand the context of the question. we know trooper didn't play poker everyday and no one is suggesting poker provides a guaranteed profit during each session.

the point is, it did not seem that trooper had a high threshold to meet in order to make his monthly nut. rather than speculate why, it may be beneficial to gather more information directly from trooper, if he's inclined to share the details, for the benefit of others that may decide to follow in his footsteps in playing poker professionally.

You entire post was based on making a profit of $43.33 per day which is completely meaningless. You might as well have just posted that he only needs to make $1.81 per hour given there are 24 hrs in a day. Seems super doable.

you must have difficulties with reading comprehension or you have the emotional maturity of a 5 year old child. if you can't understand the intent of the question, move along. the last thing we need to do is spam trooper's thread with this pointless exchange.
