For a while now all rooms have been comped. That has included up to a Parlor suite (mid-level suite) with multiple regular rooms. Never tried to get a Salon suite which would just be a waste (my parents usually stay in one and there's more room but not another bedroom so most of it is just empty space). I know we don't rate the big villas- I asked from my parents once and you need a million dollar credit line established and you have to play to it haha.

Car, show tickets etc also comped. Food/beverage wise it usually ends up being anywhere from 1-2k worth, plenty when I'm by myself. Only time I've had to pay out of pocket was when my wife and I came a few years ago, I probably wasn't rating as much comp and my wife burned up a ton at the spa haha- from that trip forward, I always ask my host to spell out total comp to the dollar so there are no surprises.

Gratuity is always on me to pay.

Played it when it first came out, it's fun but way too swingy. I also don't like how the multipliers can never be "used up"- your last bet always pay for the next (if any).

Day 2 Part 1

Lots happened each and every day during this trip, I'll definitely have to break each day into at least two, possibly even three parts.

Slept until 7am, which sounds good until one remembers I went to bed at 3am. Surprisingly not as tired as I would have figured, and I rationalize that I literally have nothing on the agenda- I can take a nap, go to bed early etc as needed. Let's keep this run going!



This is the first pic of the day... which means I hit nothing in that pre-breakfast session. Sounds about right. I know I dumped 4k, mostly on my usual machines which remain cold. I'm only up 1k for the trip now. I ordered room service, and started watching "Ant Man and the Wasp" which I found thoroughly entertaining. Forgot to take pics of food- eggs over easy, bacon, I skipped the carbs this AM.

Post-breakfast, the machine hits me with a big draw-

So I had totally planned on not using my free credit until the end like the last few trips... being good and stuck now, I'm desperate to stop using "my own money".

Not nearly as good as it appears- I started with a fresh 2k in the machine. So I used 1k free credit, got 880 in return for 88% payback.



Slap in the face time. When the machines torture you, they really go all the way.

I'm playing more and more spin- my usual machines are just SO COLD. I draw at three aces, and the machine locks up! Nice. Amount-



Damn it. That can only mean one thing- I made quad aces x 3, but no kickers.



Yep. Starting to understand the layouts/payouts of spin a lot more intuitively now. What's strange is if I turned trips into quads 3x on a regular machine I'd actually be pretty happy- here, it's disappointing bc if I just had a kicker where that queen is... this is a 12k hand.

For some reason, I just cannot stay away from my usual. Give more money back, then make my 3rd dealt quads of the trip!



NOT ENOUGH!

I know I should stop and take a break for lunch. However, I'm not even really hungry. Getting your brains beat in can do that. I decide to get Red8 to go and bring it to the room, after which I'll take a much-needed nap. I place the order and have 20 min or so to kill, which gives me just enough time to dump more back into the machines. Great.



The usual- baby bok choy, shu mai, kung pao chicken. Managed to only eat a bit of the rice.

Afterwards, I lay down for a nap, STILL thinking about those dealt quad aces. Honestly I wish I'd never gotten them given the result. They are weighing so heavily on my mind, ruining my sleep and keeping me a semi-permanent state of tilt. The 8k is long gone but the outcome is jacking up this whole trip. With those thoughts, I somehow manage a fitful hour or so of sleep...

Day 2 part 2

Wake up from the nap and plan out the rest of the day. I've made a reservation at Mizumi for myself, and I'm planning on checking out the spa at some point. Mostly I'm interested in getting this trip back on a winning track.



First 4AWAK on my usual machines. For the volume I've put in, that's just ice cold.

Continuing the recurring theme... run cold, switch to spin, hit.





Switch BACK to my usual... and get more motivation to keep playing on them.





This one was particularly nice, only bc it occurred 2 min after they unlocked for the previous. If I can keep these "above expectation random bolts of lightning" going I've got a shot.

Keep playing... get my FIFTH dealt quads of the trip!



F'ing 8s!!!!

I decide I'd better stop and check out the spa before they close for the day. Turns out they don't close until 8 but I didn't know that at the time. I'm up a whole 1k for that session, still stuck 9k for the day, but at least it's an uptick.





Headed to the spa.

I go to the hot tub/contrast bath/deluge shower area and just chill.

Love the contrast bath/hot tub combo. The cold plunge is 75 degrees but after being in the hot tub it feels like ice water. I alternated between the two several times and told myself that it was actually doing something health-wise other than just placebo effect. One of the contrast showers is to the left, just an amazing non-stop waterfall that is so incredibly wasteful but feels amazing. I wish my shower at home could be like this!

I finish off with a shower at the spa (water pressure way higher than in the rooms), head upstairs to change for dinner, then get another quick session in. Should have just headed to the restaurant- no hits, no pics and I'm stuck 10k again.

As can be seen, I kept things reasonable and didn't overeat- skipped dessert. Afterwards, headed back for the evening session- I'm tired and plan on going to bed by 10pm unless things are hot. Gotta make the roll last. I'm legit worried I'm going to busto the 20k I brought; I technically haven't even been here 24hrs and have lost half, plus been through some crazy swings and made some great hands. I love how hot this game can be. I hate how cold this game can be.

I skip my usual and head straight to spin. The machine locks up soon after-

OK, since I was drawing at a pair, this must be another center line hit- once with kicker and twice without!



Not quite- I was playing 20 lines at this point. So I can't even see all the lines, we just know at 20 lines it doesn't even have to be on the center.

I know my little foray into 20 lines was again a mistake- I definitely gave back money too fast. This was the session where I realized I should probably be playing 9 or 10 lines of spin at my level. If I hit quads from trips I'm going to make some 3x hand and be really happy; the single line hits of 2000/4000, while awesome, are simply too small to sustain 20 lines of play. So yeah, if I get a dealt monster I'd wish I was playing 20 lines, but under more normal circumstances 9/10 lines represents a good mix of chance of big hits while being small enough that the single line hits are still good and can sustain me for a while. Glad I figured this out fairly early into my spin "career". Can't remember exactly but I believe we won't see anymore 20 line spin action this trip.

Anyways, I head to the bathroom and get a text from 2P2er Turdferg. He and his wife are in town, and we had planned on trying to meet up on Sunday for brunch and some play. However, it's Sat. Hmmm. Turns out he's physically at the Wynn right then, needs to make some sports bets and potentially modify plans for tomorrow. So I get to meet him and his wife and two of their friends- we make some small talk and solidify plans for tomorrow. He needs to be back at the Wynn by 10am to make his bets- we planned on brunch at 1pm, but now may get some pre-brunch action in given how early he'll be at the Wynn. Fine with me. I catch them up generally with how I'm doing- at this point, I am solidly in the middle of a heater- I have completely erased my 10k deficit and I think I'm EVEN for the trip, so at least a +10k upswing after dinner. After we finish chatting I get back to playing. Already up past when I planned on going to bed, but how can one go to bed when the sunrun is starting up again???



SERIOUSLY! How can I go to bed???

That means I hit quads w/kicker FOUR ways? How is that possible? Oh yeah, I'm playing 10 lines, not 9...



There it is- drew at trips, got lucky enough to catch in the bottom corner, the one spot that would generate 4 lines as opposed to three with 10 lines in play.

I immediately send TF the pic with the message "you guys are good luck!". Play more, gave back I believe 2k then finally head up to bed after midnight- early for a normal Vegas day, super late for this one, but totally, absolutely necessary. Sun run restored!

Day 2 result- +1k
Swing- started up 5k, down to -10k, back up to 6k... crazy.
Overall- +6k

If I ran a casino and wanted to short pay VP players I think Spin Poker would be the way to go. I can never figure out what the correct total should be on your jackpots

Woke up pretty refreshed and ready to crush- the massive comeback of yesterday evening still fresh in my mind! Agenda for today, other than gamble, is-

And... FIFTH dealt quads of the trip!



Despite that, the usuals are overall STILL cold and I end up giving most or all of that back. Switch, yet again, to spin... and get my SIXTH dealt quads!



If these ever start becoming premium again, I've got a shot at a monster winner. As it is, this is worth the now-familiar value of-



I head up for breakfast shortly after that hit, up almost 2k for the AM session.



Mostly got this b/c brunch isn't planned until 1pm... need to get some food in me. Everything decent, 6/10.

I see the Ant Man/Wasp rental is about to expire, so I stay in the room, finish that and get some PT in. I could be missing some continued heat, but overall I know this is the right move. Likely if I head back downstairs immediately I book a loser, then I'm upset at myself I didn't just enjoy the movie and take care of business. It's almost 10am before I head back down for another session.

TurdFerg and I take on Vegas

I know TF is due to show up any second now, having needed to place some bets by 10am. He finds me shortly after he makes his bets and we chat for a bit. After contacting his wife, we decide to leave lunch plans intact instead of moving them up- that gives us time to partner up and crush!

We fire a collective bullet into spin and get absolutely nothing. Fire another into my usual- perhaps our joint venture can finally wake these machines up?

Nope. Fire a third bullet...

Nope. Jeez.

He's had enough for now. I'm stuck almost 3k on those bullets and need a break. We decide to part ways until lunchtime. I keep at it and switch to spin.



Jeez finally.



Once with kicker, twice without.

Switch back to the usual for some reason... I wish I had someone beat me with a bat when I decide to do this. Have no idea why, except that they've been my usual for so long that it feels odd any time I'm not playing on them. They proceed to rape me again, AND hit me with the following slap in the face-

That's enough. I think I finished that post-breakfast session stuck 2k for the day. While we don't know how things would have turned out had I skipped Ant Man, I think we can safely say the result as is was pretty terrible. Head over to brunch at Lakeside!



We're getting the Jazz brunch here- seafood buffet and some other items. Never been, looking forward to it.



Bread basket. I tried the small beignet with some jam- 6/10.



Fruit plate.



Small starter- can't remember exactly but basically avocado toast. Not bad, 6/10.



Seafood bar and the band. Band was ok, from the little I paid attention.



They had a small menu with a lot of typical breakfast items at no additional charge- I went with the second omelette of the day. 7/10, better than the one I got in the room solely b/c of the sharp white cheddar which I wish was an option for the room service omelettes.



From the seafood bar- grilled vegetable salad, shrimp cocktail, prosciutto, ahi tuna. Everything was decent but I'm not a huge fan of cold buffet items. I didn't even get the king crab, oysters or other seafood they had on offer.

We proceed to settle in and have a pleasant meal and conversation. Mr. and Mrs. TF are cool people and we share a lot of commonalities and common interests. Plus, it was good to try something different at the Wynn- I don't know how long it's been since I've had a different dining experience here.

I'm going to go with the flow and grab dessert for this one- already ate that donut and some other carbs so might as well go all in.





I ended up getting a chocolate chip cookie, raspberry macaron, kahlua pot de creme, and some lemon pound cake. Everything was decent and from a pure gluttony perspective I could have eaten it all, but I stayed disciplined and had a bite from each.

Recharged, we're now ready for the "real" partnership. Both Mr. TF and I agree, Mrs. TF has to sit and push the buttons. However she runs, she can't run any worse than the initial joint session Mr. TF and I had.



Good start!

I'm glad we were able to hit a joint jackpot together. We chop it up and keep going. Mrs. TF makes a couple quad aces from a pair, but without kicker. I don't bother taking pics bc I know what those are- simply bullets to be used in search of the big one. Pretty soon we're even again. Then we're down. Mrs. TF explains how she's severely under-royaled lifetime and she should be due. I'm just as cool with us getting a dealt royal with her driving as I would be if I were solo...

Doesn't come. Several good draws, blank them all. I'm basically out of loose cash and would have to run to the room to get the big tickets I've got locked up... we decide to fire a final, small bullet at spin.

Alas, that bullet goes too and we're done. Sure would have been nice to get a collective monster, but as we've seen the machines just don't care what we want. And, the usual was basically as cold as it's been all trip. Annoying. We go our separate ways, and I head upstairs to get a big ticket. I'm stuck 4k on the day now, and barely up for the trip...

Day 3 part 2

After parting ways with Mr and Mrs TF, I continue to try and salvage this day.



Turned a pair into this... which must mean I made quads on the center line BUT NO KICKER.

Unfortunately, things really turn cold for the next hour or so. I'm now down about 10k for the day, which means I'm stuck for the trip again. Finally pick up premium trips w/ a kicker, draw, and...



Thank GOD.



And then... resume ice. I can't remember exactly, but I think I finally packed it in for dinner down 7k on the day, -1k for the trip.







Amuse bouche- forgettable. It was decent but obv nothing special bc I can't even remember what it was!



Another Kentucky Mule. Gotta try and replicate last night's run good.



Beef carpaccio with parmesan and a mustard aioli. Taste much better than presentation (7/10). Wish there were more vegetables.



Veal parm, easy on the mozzarella. Standard 7/10.



They gave me a side of pasta for free, so why not. Had a few bites.



Elected not to get dessert, but they brought me out a closer anyways. Not pictured- the piece of cherry chocolate I ate

Afterwards, as I'm headed back to the Wynn I take stock of where I'm at. Tons of big hits. Lots of ice too. Part of me knows I'm lucky to have dug myself out of a hole twice. Part of me knows I've wasted quite a few massive hits. And of course, I'm still thinking about the wasted dealt 4 aces.

I know if I end up losing over 10k I'm going to be really upset. While I might have come with 20k, and probably would have been ok with a 15k loss initially, at this point with all the money that's changed hands a 15k loss is really going to piss me off. I look at my points- hmm, I actually have a shot of earning another 1k free credit from my host. Part of our deal is if I get 50k pts a trip, he'll give me another 1k free credit. Usually I don't come close and end up with 30-40k pts. Given how much play and the increase in credits I've done this trip, I'm actually close. So I stick a couple of hundred in Wonka with intention of slowing the overall bleed down (hard to lose at Wonka nearly as fast as cold VP) and hopefully generating more pts (as it's monkey slots, I get 2pts for 3$ coin in- WAY MORE than at full pay VP).

I end up playing a very long, super fun session. Things start off well with-

I'm constantly getting oompa loompa bonuses and the mini-game features where you can win a golden ticket. Alas, no golden ticket despite having maybe 50 shots at it. I did make a screen full of Wonkas, which at the unit I was betting apparently was only worth 100$- figured it'd be more than that.



The first 200 I put in lasted forever, and I think I ground more than 1000 pts. Stuck another 200 in, busto'd fast. Another 200- busto'd. OK, this is getting expensive but overall it was probably the right move from a points perspective- I'm close enough that it would be stupid to not cross 50k at this point. If this were VP and it were cold I might have just dumped 5k or more.

Encore has a Walking Dead 2 machine close to the connecting hall to the Wynn- gotta give it a try. 200 donated in, oh, 1 min?

I'm now back at the Wynn. Stop at the Walking Dead 2 machine there. 200 lasted a bit longer, but ultimately swallowed as well. I'm stuck 2k overall, -8k on the day?

I hit my usual and lose another few thousand- these machines are JUST SO CONSISTENTLY COLD THIS TRIP! Still haven't made a royal at all. Trip draws so rare. Misses so consistent. I get another good slap in the face out of it as well-

At some point I remember being at 16k total. That means stuck 4k, -10k for the day. I decide I'm going to try another 1k at spin, save 5k for tomorrow (the last day), and lock up a 10k ticket I have on me, so no matter what I'm not going home more than 10k loser. I keep going, but don't end up hitting anything else. I was going to quit at 23k, but after being on such a magical run it's just hard to accept when it's over. Played down to 22k, kept going. Played down to 21k and finally had the discipline to get up. It's now past midnight, AGAIN. Thought I was headed upstairs hours ago. Thought I'd be stuck for the trip and would be in money management mode. Instead I have the following tickets-



And 5k in cash on me. So I'm UP 16k for the trip. That was a 20k run right there. God I love spin...

I'm actually really happy with my new "basically no need to take before pics" policy. Definitely less pics to download, less to include in the reports, etc. Hopefully I've struck a happy balance with just enough before's (eg, on huge draws) coupled with white meat.
