Add on parking and if you came on a flight where you had to pay $20-$30 for an extra checked bag and the rental car has $15/day in fees too it seems everyone is paying fees galore.

The hotels claim it is for the gym, wi-fi, bottle water, etc... but isn't that the point of a hotel? You are already paying for the soaps, towels, cleaning, heat/AC, bed, desk, chair, tv, etc... I'm just confused about charging for parking in LV which seems to have more parking garages/spaces than most places.
Corporations are legally obliged to maximize profits for their shareholders. It never stops. It's the root of most of our economic problems, a Frankenstien that is out of control. It's all but destroyed the middle class.

Vegas is a desert with casinos and good food. With all the rising fees and ridiculous prices, lots of nicer destinations are becoming higher value choices. It's becoming easier and easier to "lose" the Vegas vs. elsewhere discussion with my wife.
Resort fees, parking, and more....

Even though I'm heading to Vegas in May (not sure if this is a brag anymore), we had this discussion and will likely continue to have it. They just might nickle and dime people like me right out of the market. It just has a ripoff taste throughout.

We should invent a system where instead of greedy corporations we have a government to control the means of production and then we can take all the bourgeoisie intellectuals to work on farms as part of a re-education program.

It would be better if they just bring back the mob.

The mob had more ethics and honor than the Fortune 500 and the US govt that they own.

I'd prefer an actual free market capitalism and the elimination of all corporate subsidies, but that will never happen.

The mob paid no taxes. If you want to really see the anti-capitalists whine, let the corporations stop paying taxes.

This thread has gone way off topic. LVL is not the place to discuss Citizens United or Mexican politics. I'm going to clean the thread up in the morning when I am at a computer. Until then, it is locked.

Let's try this again. Please keep to the topic of MGM parking fees and keep the politics out of it.

Threads cliffs should include whether status will be based on future play or whether it will include past play. That seems really important.

I believe that's an unknown at the moment based on the past few days' posts.

I think the thread cliffs should be at least as long as the thread itself.

Lol 75h. I understand this is maybe of interest to locals or frequent visitors but as a once or twice a year tourist there's no freaking way I ever play this amount just to get f***ing free parking, lol. I'll rather play somewhere else or stay away altogether

I'm sure other properties will be charging eventually. Many tourists will just have to pay unless they decide it's better to stay away from Vegas, or if they decide to stop using a car in Vegas.

LOL at thinking that this is in any way directed toward tourists. It's there solely as a sop to locals.

They all have free self park right now. Starting June 1, all MGM properties except Circus Circus will start charging, probably $10.

A co-worker of mine went to NYNY to eat at the steakhouse this weekend and was told it was $30 to valet, $20 to self-park in the garage. I assume this was because of some event at the T-Mobile Arena, but this just adds another $800 to season tickets for the NHL team I wasn't anticipating.

I expect that season ticket holders will be offered some sort of parking pass at a discounted rate.

Maybe early on to help establish a fan base, but free/discounted parking isn't a common practice IME.

Around here, the NFL, MLB and MLS teams all offer discounted season passes for parking.

If regular parking during NHL games is $20, they might sell a season pass for around $400-500.
