This is pretty optimal - next time I stay at Luxor I won't have to pay for parking for two different people coming up to the suite

^^^

Also Strippers are living off the same $1 tips as they were 10/20/30/40+ years ago and yet they are still getting talent to work the pole - why are cocktail waitresses not bringing in the talent outside of WynnCore and a couple of girls here and there up and down the strip?

And yes nightclub/dayclub hostess are tipped better than their casino counterparts - but they are also easy to take home to bang for a couple hundos tip - but so are a lot of strippers so honestly this has become a ramble and IDK WTF I am actually talking about or what point I am making here... sorry

Oddly enough I don't tip uber drivers in LA but I DO in Vegas because I tip just about everyone who helps me with a service in Vegas. I'm not ashamed to admit that. Also Lyft has a tip option at the end of rides on the app for exceptional service and I use it to add to my ride charge when I use lyft and the driver is good.
I'll tip uber drivers when I go to Vegas but the worthles slugs that open the door can kiss my ass.

I've never understood that job. Is it a specific job title or just one of the bell guys who rotated in to be a door opener that shift? I enjoy it when they scream at cab drivers who aren't following the traffic flow or blocking the way.

TT: "Whatup, just me, Wynn pls"
Guy: "Airport?" *whistles*
TT: "No, Wynn pls"
Guy: *opens door* *closes door*
Driver: "Where we heading?"
TT: "Wynn pls"

This sums up every experience I've ever had with the cab door opener/line organizer. Often I ignore their question of where I'm going and just thank them for opening the door without tipping b/c I'm not a cripple and could open the cab door easily myself. Then I tell the cabbie what's goingon

Ok everyone - I have some clarification about the parking situation direct from the new Aria poker room manager who met with us at our poker study group today. He had a meeting with the higher ups at MGM and there will be a way poker players can have parking covered based on a very small amount play. He said he already has thousands of name who already qualify just at Aria alone. There will not be validation, but again it can be obtained through poker hours played and he said it will be very easy. He said locals will also have a grace period which will give even more time to achieve this free parking status. So if you play at MGM properties with any kind of regularity, you should be fine. He also mentioned that your card will be tied into your car license plate and registration so someone else cant use your card or stuff like that. Some of the details are still being worked out and this will not go into effect until June 1 now - but his basic premise is that poker players should not be effected by the parking fees with a minimal amount of play. Exactly how many hours this means I do not know and neither did he, but he said it will be very fair. This was good news to hear.

It's because if you're going to a strip club they get a big kickback.

I have heard the cab drivers can get a kickback, presumably because they could have recommended the place as a destination. Why would the doorman get one though? And how would he get it??

"Where you fellas heading?" "The rhino." "Oh come here gentlemen, this limo is free for you." Limo driver hands the doorman half the fee he gets when he drops off the guys at the strip club.

This would really surprise me if it's true. The folks at MGM would really be backing down quite a bit after the "whining" that people were doing. But I hope you guys are right.

what about players who rent cars? how is MGM going to cover parking if it ties
your card to license plates and registration? what about locals who have
more than one car?

You said they owned the properties for 5 years. But he prolly just wanted to mock your failure at structuring the sentence.

I wonder what incentive MGM would gain from awarding tier credits for playing poker? Unless they start to give points for all other paid activities at the resort, based on the amount of dollars spent. Restaurants, gift shops, spa..

When was the last time you tipped a stripper $1? Seriously?? One dance at Sapphire is $20. Try giving them a dollar and see what happens.

The big question is that what if I am staying at another hotel and want to drive to Aria (in a rental car just like every other tourist) to play some poker. How long do I have to play before I am comped for parking there. I assume it is going to be on a daily basis. I can't see how else they can do it.

MGM already gives tier credits for spending at restaurants, etc.

So they'll give poker players free parking with some amount of play. What was left unsaid in that statement is whether that parking charge comes out of the player's comp balance or not. This could very well be a situation where a player can decide if they want to park for free or eat for free, but not both.

1/3. The limo drivers now have to pay taxes.

Honestly haven't been in a strip club in 6 years and the last few times I was so smashed I have no idea what I gave them :/

Great point. Maybe they will start giving tier credits to poker players like another poster said? But I don't know. I wouldn't be surprised to see them do what you said.

Saw this stuff posted in another thread:

Quote:
Mlife VIP services told me today that Parking fee will begin in June. $17 for valet and $10 for overnight parking. Both fees will be waived if your Mlife status is Gold and above. Hope this helps.

Quote:
Called Mandalay Vip services today to book a trip. Asked the guy about the parking. He said to me he's heard that mlife members as low as pearl could be comped with gold definitely being comped parking and certain hotel guests will receive comped parking (I'm thinking the higher end properties). He said things are still shifting around though on that front.

This is the reply I received today from the Aria *shrug*

Good morning,

Thank you for your email and interest in ARIA Resort & Casino.

The parking fees will go into effect at the end of April. However, parking fees will be modest when compared to similar fees in other markets. An overnight guest using a self-park facility will pay $10.00 or less. Additionally, we have been informed that M life members at a certain level will qualify to have this parking fee waived. More details in regards to this benefit will be announced in coming weeks. We are sensitive to our customers' concerns, but we are confident our resorts provide value and a quality experience that competes in the current marketplace.

Thank you again, and we hope for the opportunity to welcome you back to ARIA in the future

Best regards,
http://www.vegasmessageboard.com/for...Parking-Update

Looks like their position has changed since I wrote mlife a few months ago. They told me players with a high status might have the fee waived. Now they are saying members at a certain level will quality to have the fee waived.

Not sure why the response from Aria said the fees will go into effect at the end of April.

Both of those mention $10 as a fee for "overnight parking". Most people here aren't really that concerned about overnight parking, but in parking for several hours for a poker session. I'm still wondering if that would be different, as they seem to be specifically excluding it.
