haven't been to vegas in a while, and I forget the quality of the free drink service. Can I order decent booze at the poker table and blackjack tables at say the Bellagio, Aria, Venetian, etc.

In other words, if I want belvidere on the rocks, will I get it, or just smirnoff? If I order makers mark, will I get old thompson, etc.?

No that wasn't me. I ranted on twitter/ 2+2 about how badly the Rio had treated me and I think because of this the guys from the poker floor are pretending that they didn't know I was playing those games so they won't cash the chips for me.

I'm in charge of booking a suite for a fantasy football draft.

Sleeping arrangements don't matter (only one person stays in the suite...don't ask). I just need to make sure it has, say, 1300+ square feet. The nicer it is, the better, but price and location are more important. I'd prefer something on the strip (i.e. not the Rio).

This will be for Saturday, September 10th. Any chance of getting a suite for a poker rate at Aria or Venetian/Pallazzo? Any good way to compare the price/specs of many suites at once?

I dunno - I want to find out whether its illegal for them to do what they are doing. I feel like it should be. The guy I spoke to was the head of cage operations though! I'm pretty sure there will be a black mark on my account now so won't be able to change up any chips.

It's not the end of the world but I might just have to save them for next year.

Call the gaming commission. Have handy your tournament entry receipts, your Rio wire receipt, etc, anything you have that indicates you were playing big. The poker staff may not mind lying to you, see if they are just as brave lying to a Gaming officer's face.

at aria, bellagio and wynn you'll get the brand you ask for (if they have it.) not sure about venetian. everywhere else, prob not.

Going to Vegas in a week, will be staying for a "while". Are there any six handed NLH tournaments in Vegas? Or does anyone know a poker website search engine that shows players per table to look it up myself?

if you stick around till october, caesars will have one. they'll also run a 6 handed cash game, but you'll have to bring 5 other players.

6 max cash is completely dead, if it ever ran at all. they promoted it and got very little interest

they'll have a tournament series in october that will most likely include one 6 max tournament (they had one last year,) but they haven't posted details anywhere yet.

6 max is just not attractive to live cash players and poker rooms have no incentive to run it.

I got it sorted by talking to one of the floor guys who oversees poker. He confirmed I was playing in the big game and told the guy at the cage to issue me a cheque. I think the guy at the cage took offense to me and somehow saw my twitter post ranting about Rio and decided to cause me hassle. At least - that's what it feels like. Whatever, I have my cheque. I will never, ever wire money to the Rio again.

I found a thread about this but the area it is in seems pretty dead so I thought I would post it here.

I have a friend asking about tickets to watch the November Nine and I see they are free and you have to line up which means someone may or may not get a seat. In the thread, someone said getting a seat for watching heads up would probably be easier due to fewer family members/smaller entourages.

My question is if this is really true? Also, if you get a ticket for the first day, is that seat yours for the rest of the tournament and you can come and go or do you have to stay in it for as long as the tournament lasts? Is there some kind of list a conceirge can get you on?

Finally, any guess as to what time heads up will start?

That is absolutely horrific advice and will likely end up with the chips being confiscated and the OP in an even bigger hole.

I don't know all the back story and why the Rio management seems to be making this personal (or if they even are), and all I can advise is to go up the chain of command and to the gambling commission otherwise.

EDIT: see that this was resolved, good stuff.

You'll get what you ask for at most of the nicer places. You won't at a Harrah's property (at poker). You'll be fine at any of the three you cite above. The MGM properties have a $15 cap on the drinks they will comp. The Harrah's cap is $3.50.

I trade chips all the time. if I am leaving, I sell chips to anyone that wants them. I've never had an issue with that. if OP has 60k in chips, you'd need to do it in steps... but it is essentially the same depending on denomination. If you have big denoms and are having issues cashing them, it can be because they would rather have to put them into play... go to high limit and change them for lower denoms while sitting at a table for a few hands, get up and walk away.

I've done this before when the cashier wonders where I have gotten a high denom chip/chips.
