Exactly.

He also commented a few days ago that 2 buy in winning days are super rare ( not as rare of course as 2 buy in losing days for a poker crusher like Diesel)

Amazing stuff.

I dont understand how literally 75-90% of working adults make a higher hourly wage, but him and a few ramdoms ITT say he's going to retire from 1/3 in 10 years.

How are you in the 99th percentile of low limit poker players, but the bottom 5 percentile of wage earners and tout yourself as some sort of successful genius. For a numbers guy, a lot doesnt add up.

His "housing" is regularly 8-900+ a month when he could easily rent a room in Vegas for 5-600, have a local address, the same amount of comps, and access to a kitchen where all of your meals don't have to be prepared in a rice cooker. He could also own more than 2 spoons.

I guess #pokerlife is more glamorous.

As of July 1, 2023, Nevada's minimum wage is $10.25 per hour for employees who receive qualifying health benefits, and $11.25 per hour for employees who do not. This is $3 more than the federal minimum wage.

Hell, within 3 blocks of me, there are a few gas stations advertising banners $18-20/hr for simple cashier positions. Despite how we bag on Rice, he would probably be great at a real job that's very straightforward and requires low skill but high payoff like a debt collector or some other min wage+commission call center job. His shameless, direct, conversation dominating, hyperfocused personality type excells in these type of roles.

Debt Collector Rice would make for way better videos.

Him smugly bragging about getting some SUCKER to settle a 3 month old debt for 10 cents on the dollars while also complaining how his boss is out to get him since everyone else gets higher bonuses and commissions despite him being by the far best at his job.

Many years ago, my brother-in-law did that for a bit and he had some wild stories. lol

Those two dollar comps are only good for $7 breakfast sandwiches and $15 burgers, unless there is somewhere they can be converted into cereal boxes?

Do not actually $2 bc he has to buy overpriced food. My apologies if this has already been discussed.

Because he talks all day about obscure baseball crap, old crappy sitcoms, and trooper youtubes.

After a while you learn to read between the lines with a guy like Rice who only doles out information that he thinks is favourable to his image. Any period of time where he is silent about his results you can safely assume he is underperforming because as soon as he has anything semi decent to report you can rest assured he will smugly let everyone know about it.
He won’t openly lie about his results but he will lie by omission. It’s a well known fallacy.

He spends 99% of his mental energy and time protecting his wealth and 1% to grow it. Then brags about how good he is at the 1%. This is a surefire formula for losing at life.

Every 2nd video of his is about comps or promos now. That is his number 1 focus, not improving his hourly or moving up in stakes. It's all about maintaining his minimum wage via comps/promos by playing like an uber nit and changing tables/rooms constantly. He could earn double the money in half the time by dealing poker instead.

Diesel with the over four minute vlog today when you can just log into the website or app and get all the info instantly.

I'm going to need Diesel to make a vlog on how to pump gas next. Then one on how to tie your shoes. Oh I'll need a vlog on how to operate a rice cooker efficiently. Finally one I think the whole world could benefit from and possibly go viral. How to breathe and not die.

Even gas station clerks and such are making $15/hr now, he could do practically anything and make more money.

You joke, but one of diesel’s first cooking videos, I think it was like seafood or rotisserie chicken quesadillas, he went into great detail on how to use the rice cooker and how he uses it better than anyone else.

You joke but when Diesel posts similar videos and there are like 5 droolers in the comments telling him how brilliant he is and how helpful the video was to them.

Rice is making sure his finances are straight with him having enough to live before he moves to 2/5. I don't believe the narrative on him. Every poker player wants to move up in stakes I mean basically if you just a rec. You want to move up in stakes but to be a pro and not want to move up in stakes. Of course he wants to but there's something holding him back... unsure if he wants to save enough for retirement first than make the jump plus a big enough bankroll that seems like most likely reason.

Even with his ultra nit play, he could easily lose $500+ in a 2/5 game, could you imagine the rants.

Compared and promos are his life now because he’ll never get better at 1/3 and the pool is arguably getting better with time.

All the real punters even moved out of 1/3. They all play 2/5+ now. The 1/3 pool is retirees, nits and short stackers and the only winners in games like that are the casinos.

And the comps keep getting worse in Vegas.

Zippy chance he moves up to 2/5. When he opens for $15 UTG with QQ and gets immediately re-popped for $80 and 2 callers, he'll **** sardine slurry and walk to the next casino.

He switches tables and rooms often looking for a good game. I wonder what a good game is for him? One that let's him make the best hand without being put to any decision? Basically bingo.

No, any game where he can wait for a top 5 starting hand, raise to $20 pre and win the blinds. Let the other suckers pay into the promo fund! #noflopnodrop #datpokerlife

A game where either he has pocket aces and someone goes all in preflop or a game where he can get in for 2-5 dollars per,pay 0-10 dollars to get to the river, have the nuts on the river and have someone go all in on the river.

Just sitting around waiting to be on the right side of a cooler does not a poker player make.

He’s an OMC with different traits. That’s all.

Then why doesn’t he at least play 1/3 at the Wynn or 2/3 in some places or 2/5 at the Bellagio which only has a $500 max buy-in?

I think the reason he doesn’t play those games is obvious. He isn’t looking to move up (which is something he said himself; people aren’t making that up).

But if you are right, why wouldn’t he play in those games? Why would he lie when he said he doesn’t want to play 2/5? Why would he played poker this long and still not move up?
