Trooper seems to be kind of a dummy on this. SiriusXM's prices are way jacked up but they are always offering promotional prices. Anytime you want a promotional price you just call them up and tell them you want to cancel and they will lock you into a promotional rate for a year. Then after a year they'll jack your prices up again so you have to call back in and tell them you want to cancel and they will lock you into the promotional rate again.

I have the "Music & Entertainment" package with SiriusXM which is the 2nd highest tier but it gives you two channels of Howard Stern. Actually, I think the only extras the higher tier offers are live NFL/MLB/NBA games as well as some pandora channels so I can't imagine that Trooper would be interested in that. The normal price for my package is $17.99. However, with the promotional rate it's $7.99 + fees/taxes which ends up being a bit over $10/mo. This is the price I've been paying for years. It's the price for a single car.

The thing is, SiriusXM includes streaming for no additional costs. Trooper mentioned he uses an echo device to listen to Howard. I actually didn't know there was a SiriusXM app for Alexa, so I just set it up right now and low and behold one can access SiriusXM on their echo device for no additional cost. Thanks for the heads up Trooper. I don't listen to Howard but I will listen to UFC talk from time to time in the shower now.

I have no clue how much an additional car is, but at worst if both he and Lady Trooper wanted to listen to Howard Stern in their cars he could simply buy 2 subscriptions for a shade under $21/mo (barring any NV state taxes).

I would agree with you in a sense, there are plenty of people i disagree with politically but consume their content, however troopers political identity is his entire persona. His ENTIRE FEED is weirdo political stuff, its not like his mixes it in. With howard, which its like 15 a month not 46 btw, you can hear interviews or skits that dont involve some weirdo politcal thing, with trooper, there isnt any of that.

Does Trooper push his politics in his vlogs at all? If so, that's a valid reason to unsubscribe. I didn't watch the NFL for a few years because I wasn't interested in consuming the politics they were pushing. Same would apply to any entertainment I consume.

That being said, if someone wants to boycott him simply because he has different views than them, that's also perfectly reasonable, IMO. Right wingers likes to say that cancel culture is bad but the right has been cancelling and boycotting things since before we were born.

It's not even possible to pay anywhere near that much. Their most expensive package for car & streaming everything is $22.99/month, and as someone else already pointed out, you've got to be a fool to pay anywhere near that much as long as you play the cancellation card with Sirius on an annual basis. For years I paid $6/month and then $7.99. And now I'm not paying anything at all because AmEx revamped the bennies for my card last year and it now includes statement credits of up to $20/month for select "digital entertainment" vendors such as Sirius, Audible, Peacock & the NY Times.
