That's the point. He grew to hate the game. Zero fun anymore. He will be back though.

I would imagine because when you do it every day it feels like a job instead of a relaxing way to focus on things other than your life. Even when it's for lots of money.

As I've got older, I've come to realize that money doesn't make you happy, as cliché as that sounds. It's definitely not something I realized when I wasn't making money though. Like most average people, I just worked hard to carve out my niche along the way.

It seems to me that Doug specifically is very obsessive about things. He claimed it's now Counter Strike and good for him. He has made enough money in poker then transitioning to content, to live comfortably and do what he wants, which apparently is spending a lot of time playing this game. He likes to make content and is at times funny and sometimes he tries to hard. He reminds of a comic honing a routine, he's just the Poker trolling guy for people who still aspire to play with the best players some day.

I just don't see how either of their choices are that weird. Poker became their job and they realized they really didn't like that job. Maybe the process of becoming the best was the thing they enjoyed, or it was an ego thing when they were young, etc.

With all that said, I really enjoyed that vlog with Doug and got a lot out of it. Poker is sort of becoming like a sport where greats will come and go and some may stick longer than others.

I've just realized this was much longer than was necessary. Stream of consciousness or whatever when I should be focusing on homework.

That's because you're not spending it right.

You gotta respect the fact that Trooper came to Vegas with 2k in his pocket or something like that and has managed to survive 5+ years since then. 95% of people who try to do this fail.

what's fun about online poker in 2019?

even for live poker-if you spent a decade working hard at poker to become great at it, what's fun about sitting at a poker table if you're financially set?

Most of the negative posters have been banned from the thread. Those were the people saying that Molly wasn’t really his girlfriend even though she clearly was.

My biggest complaint with him was not improving his game because it was tough to watch him lose and constantly get upset about it. These days he is doing the things that make him happy and staying away from what makes him unhappy (poker). And if he isn’t going to improve his game, that solution works too and there’s no reason to hate on that.

Every trooper video I have watched has been boring as dirt, I don’t get the attraction.

So there are just a few reasons right there.
Boski has a recent video of him at South Point and in just a little more than an hour he lost his stack 3 times including to a couple of people that flopped straights on him. Another villain was way behind, was paying him off then rivered a set. He did win a buy-in back after that. But a cash game pro would just be starting his day and that type of variance gets old really fast.

We are all afraid that our rights to "No ex post facto law" will not be honored and we will get retroactively exiled for posting about Trooper on a Tuesday.

Our concern over random made up rules has the population living in fear of it's leadership. Which, is probably the best way to run things considering.....

If we start another thread about vloggers (not just Vegas) does 2p2 assign mods? Or would it be mod-less if the viewership is under a certain amount?

Could be an idea.

It would be modless and you could do whatever you want without any possible repercussions. We would be powerless, you little genius.

Please don't do that. Mommy, I'm scared.

This site already has a thread that tried to do that, but it died out.
