If price doesn't matter do Nobu, Joel Robuchon, Guy Savoy or E at Jaleo.

I would do E at Jaleo.

Speaking of Italian, nobody ever seems to mention Valentino. I haven't been, but the original one in LA has a well-established, excellent reputation (haven't been there either though). Any experiences with the Vegas version?

It's very good. I've found the menu to be a little less exciting than Bartolotta or B+B, but I've never had anything I didn't like there. They do a good lunch.

I've eaten at Joel Robuchon 3 times now and will go a 4th time near NYE. I have given up trying to do the 16 courses, I can't handle it all and I don't understand how other people can.

I'm 6"0, 190lbs and reasonably muscular (so I'd like to believe).

Throw in a cocktail, two pieces of amazing bread plus a glass of wine and it's just too much.

Anyone else go through those courses with ease? How big are you?

I'm 6"1 and 190 lol.

I have a giant appetite though. First time I went was with a large group and I was finishing courses for other people that were struggling (on top of mine of course).

I don't drink wine which might help a lot.

I'm nowhere near the size of either of you but when I was under 30 I probably could eat all that. Over 30, not a chance.

Anyone have any comments on Stripsteak? Got a $50 certificate for $4 off of restaurants dot com

I'm significantly larger than Mango and ZeeJ and finished the 16 courses pretty easily.

I also eat wayyyy more than a normal person though. I was still hungry after E, so I went next door to Blue Ribbon and ordered the fried chicken.

It's pretty good, and they have an utterly ridiculous scotch selection if that's your thing. The $50 certificate should bring the price of the meal back in line with comparable steakhouses.

Thanks, eco. I had planned on Craftsteak or Prime, but when I saw this deal, I couldn't pass it up. Hell, we may end up at one of the others the next day anyway lol

I actually prefer Stripsteak to Craftsteak, even without a deal.

I haven't worked my way around the menu too much, but I have been there a whole bunch of times. The steaks have been always been spot on (served over-cooked once ), the Romanoff Potatoes are amazing and a nice change from the normal offerings.

Prime is likely to run you a bit more, but has always been a very good meal and a very nice dining experience.

StripSteak is better than Craftsteak and Prime, IMO. That's more of an indictment of Craftsteak and Prime though than an endorsement of SS. And not that they suck, just that there's better in town.

Im hearing VERY good things about Strip Steak lately, even a comment from someone who really knows the food industry that they now prefer Strip Steak over Carnevino's grand reserva. I'm not saying thats a fact, but still to be compared in the same realm is impressive. I must try it soon.

Went to Julian Serrano last night...was great, it's a shame that place totally lost its mojo/hype when jaleo opened. We got a vegetable pallela and I liked it more than the pallela I had at jaleo!

I'll be hitting up one of the MGM-chain steakplaces when I'm in Vegas next week (I really notice my posting on this site peaks about two weeks before a trip) and have to choose between Stripsteak, Prime, Jean George and Craftsteak. I've eaten at all of them, but I still don't know which one I'll hit up. I keep looking over the menus.

As a side, does anyone know where I can get a "Baked Alaska" at any of the restaurants within the MGM group? I know CUT has it, anywhere else? (Google it if you don't know what it is, it's AMAZING)

Best place to go for new years eve dinner? Trying to avoid the direct strip & going to old downtown after. So anywhere from charleston/215-old dt would be sick. Thinking del friscos but would love to have a cpl other choices. $200 max bill/no wine.

Well since you said Charleston/215 and you're looking for steak, I'd go to T-Bones at Red Rock or Fleming's right down Charleston. Del Friscos sounds like it will be a PITA since Paradise will be one of the strip detours.
