Went Saturday night. Not a huge meal since I'm not a huge person, but we had oysters, two steaks and fries between the two of us. Regarding the steaks- the GF had their special, which was a truffle-rubbed filet or something or other, and it really was perfect. I had the chile-rubbed wagyu, which was very tasty but they overdid it with the chili and oil. I would have liked it better if it were more subtle. Service and atmosphere remain outstanding.
TY for CC update. Very excited to try there next month.

Is Picasso suitable for solo diners?

I've had great experience with CC as well, thanks for the reminder I haven't visited this year yet.

It's Wynn-priced. Don't expect to get out of there for under $300 for two if you do it right.

While I certainly love Picasso I'd recommend L'Atalier over it for a solo diner simply because you can watch the kitchen while you eat. Picasso's bar, while super ****ing classy, was a bit dark and I don't remember there being anything to entertain you except the bartender, who admittedly was a cool dude.

Quick question - when dining solo is it still necessary to book a table? I ask because checking Cut and Picasso for some random date a few weeks from now (using their website) they have room for two but not one. Would it be better just to ring?

I always just show up and ask to sit at the bar.

Thank you! Very much bearing this in mind. So it seems like I need to convince my foodnit friends to come to Picasso and then hit up L'Atelier alone if need be.

Thanks.

That would be the way to do it. L'Atelier is done best with at most two people since it's almost all counter seating. They do have some tables but the show is up front and that's where you'd rather be. And it's totally worth the trip.

Hi all. Looking for some thoughts/critiques/suggestions for my current restaurant schedule for October trip. I think it's pretty solid, but worried I'm missing a gem. Not into sushi so that's not a problem. I'm concerned at leaving out SW and Michael Mina. Thoughts appreciated, please don't judge the anality of this military schedule lol. It's just a rough plan, I like to have things roughly mapped out.

Restaurants in orange, still need one for the ??? slot!

How necessary will it be to book these places in advance for likely a solo diner? This probably applies more to like Picasso/CUT.

On a sidenote, I'm going with 3-4 friends and I'm not sure how keen they are for i) good restaurants every night and ii) blindly following my suggestions. I'm fairly set on eating at these places, restaurants is one of the huge draws to Vegas for me, but I don't wanna seem antisocial if I'm eating solo most nights, equally don't wanna force my preferences onto them.

I haven't really looked into é given it seems tough to get a seat. From what I read, Serrano > Jaleo but could well be mistaken. Open to any suggestions, nothing firm there by any means

I would do Bouchon on Sunday for brunch. I would venture out to Kabuto one night.

Joist,

Unless there's something unusual like a super giant convention in town, you can go solo or with all your friends to Cut on Monday night without a reservation.

Your restaurant choices are all fine and they are all great restaurants but they seem a bit Euro centric. I mean, if you are coming from Spain, why go to Julian Serrano?

Similarly, you can go to the L'atelier in Paris.

But you will really have to search to find a place like Kabuto or Raku in Europe.

Hmmmm... in my small circle of friends (some of whom are very well-traveled diners) e and Jaleo are considered >>> Serrano. IMO Jaleo is much more whimsical and fun... and I'm into that sort of thing. Don't get me wrong, I've been to Serrano multiple times and always had good food.

Enjoy your trip!

I highly recommend Mozen for the Sunday brunch at the Mandarin Oriental. Bouchon or Tableau are my go to places but you should try Mozen if you can.

I appreciate the thoughts. Have only been in Spain a few months and not seen much of it due to work so I've not had chance to explore tapas properly here.

I'm not a sushi person at all so Kabuto isn't on my list, but I'l consider Raku, thanks.

Thanks for all the comments/help

Joist,

Both of those tapas places are great and they are also really great places to go with friends who want to have some good food but also don't want anything too formal and don't want to break the bank. I personally prefer jaleo with a group, it's a better location and more fun vibe.
