For sure Sushi Neko is still best until I find a place better. The fish to rice ratio on their nigiri is just spectacular for minimal rice consumption. The other dishes/appetizers are also good for those looking for that kind of variety.

Goyemon was a good new experience and I'd be happy to go back. They definitely had an apprentice/new sushi chef doing this lunch. The fish cuts were definitely not good (as you can see on the yellowtail). Still tasty. Appetizers that I tried were good.

Gorilla has more choices on their lunch menu for "1 order only" that the other two did not. This includes a sashimi salad (good amount of mixed cubed of fish with no rice), and a ceviche that has shrimp with the shells still on that I always forget about and vow not to order it next time. And I always save this for last day lunch and then right to the airport as it's pretty close.

I'm home now. Wanting to go back.

Love that you can AYCE sushi so many times so close together like that punkass.

I am a big fan of Curry Leaf for Indian, also like Mt. Everest.

I definitely don't do this at home. Well, mostly because there's no AYCE sushi places. And I don't do back to back days either. I did 3 places on MWF, all for lunch. And those days were followed with light dinner nights.

Ok, now I have another AYCE cuisine to explore next time I'm in Vegas. Love me a good Indian buffet.

Authentic is not usually a benefit for Indian in my experience. It's gonna burn on the way out in a very intense way.

I'm sure there are Bouchon pics, but I doubt anyone will mind. Ham and cheese was really good. The crab Benedict was as well, but the eggs were definitely over which was disappointing.

a poached egg and hollandaise is not a cure
simply an emphatic symptom of brunch

Neko ramen 10/10, really good ramen and hand rolls. $19 for one of each with a soda. Gyoza also top tier.

We stopped for a No Pants burger at Pier 17 at Absinthe. Easily one of the best burgers I've had on the strip.

Had Lefty J's for the first time. The Robust Garlic Chicken is a top 5 meal in the city, completely unreal.

Mijo at Durango was terrible, do not recommend. The fajitas had literally no salt or seasoning, don’t know if they just forgot it or what. The “blackened shrimp” wasn’t blackened at all, it wasn’t even grilled. Fajitas supposed to be sizzling (as described on menu) came out lukewarm.

Sent back the fajitas, manager said he would take it off the bill and offered the birria short rib. That was average at best. Had some kind of weird creamed corn on bottom and short rib was pretty bland. Cheese on the short rib didn’t work for me, and I love cheese on everything.

Chips and salsa were just ok. The churros were decent but not great. The tortillas with the fajitas were rock hard, literally like a brick that you could break on the table.

Credit to the manager for making things right and comping most of our bill but I would not go back.

I heard another terrible review about Mijo this weekend as well, sadly I have a friend who works there.

Expensive/bougie Mexican is usually not all that great though, the place in Red Rock that took over Hearthstone is just meh, with really weak/bland salsas.

Yeah, it was pretty bad. I very rarely complain about anything at restaurants, worked as a server for 5 years so I have a good tolerance for things not turning out the best but this was just bad.

If you zoom in on the fajitas pic you can even see there’s literally no salt/seasoning on any of it.

Toca Madera reigns supreme for the high end Mexican spots. I like Javier’s a lot too but Toca is just way better than all of them.

I really wanted to go to Toca after your review, but we didn't have the time. We did make it to Javier's for margaritas.

On the way to Best Friend. I've probably said this before, but mix the BBQ pork with the carbonara.

Thanks for that -- saw a video of an awesome looking tomahawk at Mijo so still might go try that, but oof that review makes me not want to visit. I have heard good things generally about Durango but I hated it. Some good looking bars but otherwise it's a no from me dawg. I'll stay at RR. And perhaps that segmentation is the point.

Go to Toca instead and get the NY strip, a Caesar, and the ceviche. Can even thrown in a brown butter cake dessert and a cocktail. Will still cost you less than one Mijo tomahawk and be way, way better.
