We used to like Wicked Spoon at Cosmo a lot but it seems they don’t run a dinner service anymore. It the lunch/brunch good?
How about Wynn? I used to like it some 5 years ago but how is it now?
Is there something great flying under the radar?

My group likes buffets with good variety. Lots of nice small portions and a few exotic dishes are always a plus. Good seafood is also a big plus.
Anthony's at M for the premium items, beef, lamb, lobster.

Bacchanal for variety.

I’m pretty easy going about my food but was a little disappointed with the Buchannal. 90 minutes is more than enough time and variety is there. But I just thought it was a tad too overcrowded and food was mediocre

Borgata Buffett has better food, I know that’s in NJ but last one I’ve been to in past ten years or so

Problem with Anthony’s buffet is I believe it’s booked out for months.

For me the best buffets are Bacchanal/Wynn then maybe Bellagio and after that Cosmo. Haven’t had Palms since San Manuel took over and Anthony’s looks great but is only brunch to my knowledge and I have also heard it’s ridiculously booked as well.

I watched video reviews on M, and it looks very good indeed (especially the lobster is quite something). Too bad it’s a Sunday brunch only and we will be doing other stuff then. And might also be booked as mentioned. I think Wynn is our choice if my friends agree. A 120min time limit is already somewhat better than the 90min at Bacchanal, and Bacchanal is probably also the most crowded one. Our course time limits may or may not be enforced but being rushed to leave would be a real mood killer.

In borderline causal dining news, the NY Strip at Toca Madera is the best steak I’ve had in a long time. Holy **** that was great.

Casual? Fine dining? Idk you decide but here’s some pics.

Lol toca madera is the Mexican steakhouse version of catch. I will give them credit for making pretty plates of food. Steak looks way over though.

The steaks have been incredible, an order of magnitude better than Catch. We went two nights in a row. Had the tomahawk tonight:

Assuming multiple people, I quite like Morimoto and it's not that expensive.

Solo, Picasso isn't a bad restaurant.

It really is. Everyone in our group kept saying it’s one of the best dinners we’ve had in a long time. Then we went back the next day for round 2. You also get some live music and a woman eating fire depending on what time you go, so that’s cool too.

If you have to make a reservation, it is not casual enough for me.

interesting point of distinction
say you have a craving tonight for your favorite place and they can't seat you

not casual any more or shame on you for waiting?

Wait. Chat with the other people. You'll meet Sonny Bono. Or maybe Julia Roberts and Lyle Lovett.

Usually need reservations for spots like Esther’s Kitchen, Lamaii, 888, Lotus of Siam, wouldn’t consider any of those fine dining but they’re all great.

I’ll own it, it was probably me and I still say it’s catch with a Mexican flair. You want steak you go somewhere else, you want Mexican you go somewhere else. What am I missing?
