Chuchote is near Weera Thai and equally good, if not better.

Soul Belly BBQ opened today downtown. If you haven’t been yet, to. The brisket is by far the best in town.

Last meal in vegas was a small one. We went to a small diner -type place called Polaris Street Cafe. It's on Polaris Street that has no traffic if you weren't coming here. Family owned diner had all the good breakfast items, and some basic lunch sandwiches and salads.

We got a southwest skillet and a Carne asada skillet. Lots of crispy potatoes, meat, onions, peppers, and eggs. Comes with toast. Nothing too complicated, but hit the spot. Not exactly cheap at 14 bucks each, but we were happy. No pics as I forgot.

Til next time vegas.

Wanted a diner type breakfast and it came up in my search. Looked like a dive hole in the wall with good reviews, which is a type I can't resist.

Place was packed at 11am Friday.

Given where it is I’m surprised it was so expensive. Always wondered about the places like that in the industrial/commercial districts. Might have to do some field research myself on some of these joints.

Looking at Trip Advisor reviews - it seems that place is a hidden gem, shame I don't drive - UBERing in and out seems extravagant

We did get a very filling meal, and the ingredients tasted good quality. Other items are priced reasonably I think.

We go to Polaris Street Cafe sometimes. Even better spot is Coffee Pub on Sahara by the In N Out by Palace Station.

“By The In N Out”, always makes me think of The Big Lebowski.

This place looks decent.

I just left vegas and I guess I have to start a new list of restaurants to try when I come back. Keep the suggestions coming

Ate at El Dorado next to Sapphire and had a surprisingly passable mole. If you just want late night tacos I don’t see a reason to pay more for less than tacos el gordo (unpopular opinion but think they’re pretty average) but even they aren’t open 24/7. Cocktails are good, but strip prices.

Late night options pretty limited still and I’d rate this pretty highly among what’s available atm. While on the topic of late night options, Jammyland serves a limited food menu until they stop serving drinks at 2. Ice cream sandwich while drinking outside can really hit the spot With them + Velveteen Rabbit serving drinks until 2 on the weekends, Main St is pretty great for bar hopping right now

The jerk wings and beef patties at Jammyland are way better than you'd think they would be.

Ate at yardbird last night and couldn’t have been happier with the food. I have lived in Vegas for 5 years now and finding upscale southern food is impossible. They are known for their fried chicken which was very good but we were blown away with the rest of the food we had from the blt with fried green tomatoes, deviled eggs, biscuits and especially shrimp and grits. It had the strip casino drawbacks of ridiculous prices and an overly busy restaurant but the food was easily good enough to just relax and enjoy it

There is a place called Mama Bird Southern Kitchen in Southern Highlands. Might want to check them out. I haven't looked at Yardbirds prices in a long time but Mama Birds 8 piece meal with sides and biscuits is $48. Not quite strip prices but pretty close.

Coming back from the strip we decided to stop in Jamon Jamon, we were the only people in the restaurant but it was absolutely fantastic. Starting with the bread and olive oil, every dish was good to great. We ordered a lot of the standard spanish tapas that you will find at place like Jaleo, but almost all of the dishes were better here. The garlic and chili shrimp were absolutely outstanding, the croquettes were great as expected, and the sea bass might have been the highlight of the meal. On top of that the cheese and meat platter was so good i ordered an extra for snacks during poker this week. Prices are quite steep for the location, but the quality is excellent and we will happily be back.

i love me some tapas so i went to their site to check out the menu...those prices are bordering on the obscene for what it seems you're getting.
$10 for a slice of pan con tomate or a small bowl of marcona almonds is laughable. might as well pay $20 for a wedge salad.

I’ll say it again but soul belly BBQ is by far the best in Vegas and it’s not even close. At least until Blood Bros BBQ arrives at resorts world...

Had the unlimited small plates brunch at Border Grill. For $40 it’s a steal. Think the food is solidly a grade above a buffet brunch but your options are much more limited

I live literally down the street from Blood Bros, curious how they’ll do at Resorts. Soul Belly doesn’t look close but who knows.

Totally agree. Not sure current selection but there was a time when i would have said the options weren't even that much more limited than a buffet.

I organized a brunch there the day after my wedding, definitely did not disappoint.

Prices are definitely high, especially for a strip mall location, but I will say the portions are quite generous when it comes to tapas. If the prices were better I would be there every week, but as a side by side I enjoyed the food more there than at Jaleo.
