to your point, it wouldn't make me reconsider the resort but I would ask for a different room next time
You mean the Venezia tower which they built ontop of the parking structure? I remember that being quite a trek.

The MGM Grand is so crazy big that it might take you >10 minutes just to get from your room to the Strip.

Yep. My wife and I stayed at Signature suites 15 years ago with a young baby in a buggy. We were probably doing it wrong but the trek to get to the Strip through the travelators and into and out of MGM might have been closer to 15

MGM Grand doesn't count. It might be shorter to walk from my house to the strip than from an MGM room.

Especially in that old part where they took over that old hotel that's just a few floors. I could not see the end of the hallway.

Played at the Horseshoe Saturday night.

Took a bad beat. That’s poker. Went to reload. Went to the atm machine. No money came out just a receipt. Then a service worker told me you need to go to the cashier to cash out more than 200 dolllars. I didn’t have photo ID. Had a copy of my Passport from my
Phone they wouldn’t accept it. This place was garbage.

That sucks. I've never heard of an atm that did that.

Me either. Let us know how that worked out. Did the money come out of your account anyway, and if so, was it a huge pain in the ass to get it back? Obviously any effort to get it back at all is excessive.

Very first time I stayed in Vegas was at the MGM Grand.

Had my golf clubs with me and a full-size suitcase. Got my room key, went up in the elevators, did the mile-long walk to the end of the corridor..... and found someone still in the room as they'd given me the wrong one!

Fair to say I was doing a lot of unhappy grumbling as I traipsed back down to reception

MGM Grand is a lot like major airports. Everyone know O'Hare or Hartsfield-Jackson are huge but nobody realizes how huge before they spend 15+ minutes to get to their next gate during their first layover there.

Sounds like you took a cash advance, not a withdrawal. Same thing happened to me at Wild Whores Past near Phoenix when I pressed a wrong button on their ATM. Had I done it right, it would have spit out the ca$h. Instead, I had to go to the cage, and provide two forms of gov't issued ID. Good thing I had my MJ card, too.

I'm pretty sure the "charge" for the cash advance was more than the usual $8.

I posted this in another thread but since this one is specific to hotels, thought I’d add it here. Just got back from a few days in Vegas. Was able to walk the back way from Vdara to Bellagio. The only thing closed off is the new walkway into Cosmo, still under construction. New walkway is enclosed and air conditioned, not exposed to outside elements. Very nice.

Hmm, where is the Cosmo walkway and where does it enter in the Cosmo complex?

I was walking down the side street and cutting through the valet area in June

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's near Superfrico and Wicked Spoon. It's also not open yet.

Probably been said plenty of times, but if your low rolling looking to play poker (and caesars card holder), and not super picky about a room, the best cheap central rooms are in Harrahs, not bad walk to Horseshoe/Venetian/CP, Deuce right in front will get you to downtown if need be, Orleans not a quick bus ride as well. Walgreens is close, ~$3 ATM at Casino Royale, McD and Chipotle next door.

*I'm assuming if you are low rolling you aren't going to Wynn/Aria/Bellagio where games are playing bigger. Little longer of a walk.*

Looks like CP got a touch of the Legionnaire's along with the Orleans, according to this article

Not sure if this belongs here but it can be moved.
I just got a message today mentioning that Venetian/Palazzo are now charging $18 a day for hotel guests to park. Valet $35 a day.

I'm glad you did post it. Taking a trip soon and Venetian was a place I was considering staying, or at least visiting. Nein to both now.

It’s tempting to think/hope that there’s going to be a tipping point where the properties raise prices and **** customers to the extent that middle and upper middle class people stop coming to Vegas.

(And I’ve decided not to do a WSOP trip next year, in large part because of the expense involved)

But I think it’s more likely that prices keep rising and the clientele just over indexes on very wealthy guests and weekend visitors who just don’t care

Just found out Wynn will start charging for parking at the end of the month. Hotel guest will still be free. For now.

The only thing that allows me to afford it is that every year I go there during a promotion with a points multiplier to renew my Diamond status. During that visit I usually accumulate enough "sucker" points to get some good discounts on rooms.

That's not easy to do if you have to fly across an ocean or two to get there. They're always pushing their online casino, which of course is not legal where I live. Maybe you can look into it, catch a few promos, etc.

Just our name for Wild Horse Pass, an enterprise of the Gila River Indian Community. Pre 'Vid, they had poker. Now moved to Lone Butt.
