Lol. Because 1.5miles walking in December is the same as 1.5miles in July right

I've walked from Rio to Bellagio a lot of times and others can probably attest that I'm one of the most "pro walk" people around.

There's zero comparison between walking in the winter (or Fall and Spring) and walking in June/July/August. Doesn't mean you can't do it but I wouldn't plan on being able to do it twice a day during the day.

That said, there's bus route 202 that shouldn't take much more than 5 minutes and Uber is pretty cheap, too. If you're getting the Rio for $13/night with resort fees waived (that alone would be $45) that sounds like a good deal to me even if you have to pay for transportation once a day.

Also have walked from strip to Rio plenty when the WSOP was over there. Early or late, it's hot but not unbearable. Daytime seems like it would be unpleasant.

I've heard stories of people being accosted, but never experienced anything myself. It's not a nice walk--very trashy going over I-15.

Went through Caesars a few times, out the back, past the parking garage and under I-15. A little less outside, might be an idea.

But as madlex says, bus or uber should be considered.

Has anyone stayed in the updated rooms at the Bellagio? Did they update all of the rooms?

Tell them you want one of the updated rooms, perhaps ?

Or are you just curious about all the rooms ?

It was pretty decent.

Manor Suites? I stayed there once too...it's not terrible

My friends and I found the beds at Virgin so comfortable we looked up what they were. Unfortunately I had just bought a new bed at home.

Did they also swap our the mattress with a new one? (I'd assume yes, but this is a MGM run property...) Trying to figure out my WSOP trip and debating mixing it up and staying at B this year. (Bounce between Aria/Vdara of late)

On a similar note, apparently Vdara is due for a remodel after the Super Bowl in February.

How does it cost $110m to renovate 800 rooms? That's $140k per. You can almost build a 2b condo for that price. There's gotta be some tax shenanigans in play here.

Union labor, materials, insurance and what not. Seems about right compared to what Wynn/Encore have paid for their respective refreshes in the past.

I remember reading an article back in like 2014/2015 that when Encore announced a room refresh it basically meant their standard rooms deprecated at a cost of 20-25 dollars a day.

Coming into town for work in a few weeks. It's been a while and I'm terrible at remembering hotel experiences...or maybe just hotel experiences in Vegas specifically, ha.

Looking for recs for a quick 3-night stay on the strip. Would like to be close to active poker rooms like Venetian, Horseshoe, Bellagio but on a bit of a budget. Don't really care about on-site amenities. How is Harrah's?

rooms are a lot nicer, casino floor environs and clientele remain trashy

feelwrath (lets go go serie A) and pigbill
my post form a few months ago glad someone explained the S-A tier rankings. it how I rate things the last 10 years or so

I meant to say from the higher end standard rooms to the lower end there is a massive gap between the S/A tier and the B/C tier imo. staying at luxor and excal is completely diff than Bellagio/aria but I know thats obv to all.

also want to say its very sad, and this was BEFORE THE MEGA INFLATION how insane excal/luxor rates have gone up compared to past. the only hotel imo in vegas that has legit actually GOTTEN cheaper is rio in the last 5-6 years weirldy enough and by cheaper i mean rio has been between 55-65$ a night during wsop for past 2-3 years it seems without major increases

Thanks. Any other places I should consider in the same general range as Harrah's? Horseshoe?

My pov would be that the Linq is a more modern version with nicer casino floor and it’s in an equally good location.

If it’s similar price I’d probably go with that. Although if Paris or PH are similar, they are probably a bit better

If you haven’t already, join up for Caesars Rewards and then go into their website. All 4 of the above properties are Caesar’s and you’ll be able to compare and contrast pricing for them

MGM Signature….am I nuts to think of renting there mid June for wsop?

Obviously Uber to further locations like Wynn, Resorts world but walk to Paris/Ballys and maybe Bellagio or Caesar’s? I know it’ll be 100 out but maybe not that far to walk?

Probably looking at saving $400 or so vs a room poker rate (Bellagio, Wynn).

I stayed at the Horseshoe about two weeks ago. Obviously it's location is the greatest thing it's got going for it.

My stay was a bit expensive (relatively) because I guess there were several conventions in town and hotels across the Strip were greatly inflated in price.

Not sure when you're going, but WSOP starts soon, so the rates might be inflated and I imagine the rooms will be booking fast (if they haven't already sold out).

Not too many food options at Horseshoe. Heard mixed things about the Jack Binion Steakhouse. Didn't try it. Tried M.Y. Asia, which is new. Was decent but a bit overpriced for portion sizes. Good options at Paris I believe. You're a relatively short walk to Venetian/Palazzo and they got many great options (about a 20-25 minute walk).

Right across the street from Bellagio (just take the pedestrian bridge across and make sure you get on the correct one. There's construction going on and it gets a bit confusing at first on how to get on the correct bridge).

Free parking if you're platinum or higher for Caesar's Rewards as well.

Edit: rooms were good, nothing fancy, but not rundown etc (though I stayed in a suite). Check-in was horrible. 4pm check-in. We went to the line around 3:50 pm and had to wait like 30 minutes. Super long line and it's only self serve kiosks to check-in. I think like ten of them, but several were out of order lol.

You mean there are "tax shenanigans" in real estate development accounting ?

Stop the presses.......

I stayed at Signature for a few nights for the WSOP last year, and will be back for two nights this year. It's a surprisingly convenient walk around to the back of Horseshoe. Not as easy as from Bellagio obviously, but much easier than from Wynn.

You basically want to head out from the Horseshoe monorail stop. I'm not sure if there's an entrance at the back of Paris. But at least you don't have to deal with pedestrian traffic on the Strip.

I've also walked several times from Signature to Bellagio, but that's a bit of a pain.

I've stayed at Signature multiple times, including a 6 week stay during WSOP.

Walked to/from Bellagio daily without any issues even though it obviously gets pretty warm. The walk to Horseshoe/Paris should be very convenient via Audrie St or through Planet Hollywood. Never actually went into Horseshoe from that direction but have walked to the Monorail Station right next to it.

As long as you know it’s a 10 min walk to the Strip. No exaggeration

I’ve stayed there and the apartment itself was great and it was good to have cooking facilities but it’s a long walk to get anywhere man

Watch out at the Linq that you don't get a room with double beds. Make sure you go for queen or king bed.
