I would always choose CET over any MGM property because MGM started the BS with charging for parking and resort fees.

Anyone ever stay here? Looks like a pretty good location for not being on the strip directly.

I have the same question actually lol

Interested in povs on the rooms, the restaurants and pool/gym facilities if anyone has stayed at both?

thanks
I do!

Caesars will cost more, and I consider Caesars to be the most overpriced place on the strip. They’re charging a tax simply because they have existed for 50 years and there’s a certain kind of customer that will always buy that.

Caesars will have more room variety, since they have 47 different towers. The nicer ones are in Augustus or Octavius, but you’re really just paying for bigger. Mirage basically has two rooms (outside of suites)- the regular room and the slightly upgraded one that has a bigger bathroom. It’s a pretty standard room, slightly better than your next-tier-down. If staying there, go for the slightly upgraded (don’t remember what they call it) for the bigger bathroom, unless you want your knees touching the door when you take a ****. You will get more for your money at Mirage.

Restaurants are fairly lame at both. Nothing exciting. Mirage is better for standard issue coffee shop, Caesars has a food court and a better buffet. Caesars restaurants might be the most overpriced on the strip, but they do have more options. You just won’t be too excited about any of them.

Can’t say anything about the gym, and pool situation is probably better at Mirage.

Caesars is also massive while Mirage is just Vegas-normal. I’ve stayed at Caesars for weeklong conventions and it is absolutely soul-sucking after a while being in that labyrinth. Takes forever to go anywhere or even get to the strip.

Mirage really is the best choice for not luxury and not budget. It’s a solid B/B+. Caesars can burn down for all I care.

This. But if you get a better price @ Treasure Island stay there vs Mirage it’s a slightly more fun place at a better price. Fashion Show Mall directly across the bridge increases non casino food options too Hotel Review Thread

Hmm, I’d always imagined TI was a step down?

I definitely prefer that end of the Strip and most of my trips have been at the V/P as well as one never to be repeated stay at Harrahs

I've had to stay at TI for a work function the past 8 years (late January or early February 2012-2019), and it's terrible. Mercifully, we're at Bally's this year.

I haven’t stayed in the rooms I was referencing the Casino/resort adding in to Eco’s points. Are the rooms super beat up?

I stayed at Mirage twice the last few years I enjoy the casino more than TI but figured that the rooms were similar which I’ve found my Mirage rooms to scream “im worn in”

When Steve Wynn built the Mirage, he also built Treasure Island as a "sister" property that was more economical than the Mirage. The rooms were a little smaller and maybe less ritzy when it was built. Since then, TI was remodeled and the rooms were jazzed up substantially. Mirage has also since been remodeled but I wouldn't say they are any nicer, although they are still bigger than TI.

I don't know what that other guy was complaining about wrt TI. I stayed there a few months ago and it was still nice. The owner has a reputation for being cheap, but that hasn't played out with TI to any large degree. I like how TI has free parking, has 99+% video poker, and 3:2 blackjack without having to bet $100 a hand. Too bad they wrecked the poker room, it used to be my favorite.

Feelie, I stayed at TI my first LLSNL meetup, four nights. I thought everything was solid as far as room goes. I think I was most annoyed by the casino floor and clientele lol, but it was a short walk out to the strip from the elevator bank and while it's no V suite, it was definitely a better experience than the Linq. Haven't stayed at Mirage but I think TI is a solid mid-range choice.

I can’t speak to the rooms there but IMO the property and it’s clientele will be a step (maybe half step) down from Mirage. Once they put that Gilley’s in front they announced to the world exactly what vibe they’re going for. Might be more fun if that’s more your crowd, it’s just not mine.

After fees these are all showing up about the same price and I have them ranked for value and my needs how I see them but tell me what Im missing. Thanks.

I also as of now have 23,000 Reward Credits which if I dont use at a hotel Ill eat off that.

Gold Coast
Ballys
Park MGM
Linq
Rio
Excalibur

Realized Gold Coast price was if all paid in advance with no cancellation. Decided to stay at a CET property to use my 23,000 Reward credits toward the hotel. Staying end of June for 5 nights a Friday night thru Tuesday night. These are my prices thats showing after resort fees and taxes. With the info above in my other post whats my play? Thanks.

Ballys Jubilee Strip View- $570
Flamingo High Roller View- $623
Paris basic room- $617
PH basic room- $618
Rio- $621 (this cant be the right choice I dont think?)

My not CET choices and still just use Reward credits for food for the week:

Gold Coast basic room- $660
Vdara basic room- $673

Vdara is the best property by miles but no casino/Vegas vibe so if you want that go somewhere else, but it’s a far higher tier resort than the others

This. You got like $230 in credits so if Budget is an issue I’d go Bally’s jubilee or Paris. Otherwise do Vdara and eat on your credits over at PH and Paris Hotel Review Thread

Remember that reward credits expire after six months unless you earn at least 1 reward credit. You'd better have a plan to earn 1 before you go or they'll be gone when you get there.

Ive been earning them off their credit card. I always pay the balance off at end of the month so have never paid interest and will have more before June.

You’re about to get a bunch of people advising you to tell the front desk you’re diabetic and need a fridge for your medication, to get one for free. Don’t be that guy.

A lot of Hotels have gotten wise to that one. If you need a fridge for your medication they supply you with a small device that will hold a couple of pill bottles.

Also, the growing absence of coffee makers in the room. You want coffee? Go down to the lobby and buy some.

Can't wait for the next nickle and dime trend.

its just such bs that they dont come with fridges anymore, makes zero sense.
well it does but like the above poster said nickle and dime.

We generally have a rental car and I pick up a $3.00 throwaway styrofoam cooler at a gas station and leave it when we take off. Might be worth looking at the CVS at the TI if you're carless - even it it's $10.00 a day you're way ahead.
