ah thank you. Congrats to him and will try to track him down. Question about Beginners Question forum. Why are there people with reg. dates of 2005-2007 still regularly posting there. Do you not cease to be considered a beginner after 5 years

This thread is mainly about community.

I'm not a beginner, but... I'm not the best in Scotland or anything close to that either.

Hi Mike

its one of the forums i mod. we get alot of users who 'smash and grab' and use beginners as a stepping stone (totally standard and totally fine) but believe it or not but we've got a decent core of people who have progressed way beyond beginner status are willing to stick around (or at least drop in from time to time) and give back to the forum that gave them their start.

+900k to getting David on the show. Our NC thread has basically turned into a railbird thread for people watching the live feed.

For any 2+2er to make such a huge score is awesome but for it to be done by a Beginners forum reg is epic.

and he beat some guy called Juan. Juan who???

Mines 2008 but for 2008- early 09 I was mostly a donk so I belonged there. Now I just generally prefer the folks there.

This. Doesn't have to be FTP Doug; any FTP representative with do.

Whoever it is, just rip him a new ******* for the terrible customer support that FTP offers. Just like you guys did with the UB guy when you interviewed him after the scandal.

In the 2+ years I've been listening, the best guest you've had has to be Alan Boston. Please have him on again soon and just turn him loose to name names and tell some stories.

Maybe you could help to line up the interview. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to come on any program as long as you clarified those intentions.

Jose Barbero maybe?

lol, fair enough.

Who knows, though, their marketing strategy appeared to go something like this:

1. Start a rumor of a new VIP program over a year ago.

2. Let the rumor spread over 2p2, gradually building up over the course of a year. People began speculating about the potential benefits and how it might rival Stars' VIP program. The rumors snowball, people hope for more and more.

3. At the height of the speculation, they unveil a new so-called "rewards program" that actually offers less rewards than the previous system.

4. Watch with surprise that people would actually be disappointed after the rewards system doesn't live up to the hype; quite the opposite, it actively harms the players who participate in the VIP program.

If they were dumb enough to think this would actually be a successful marketing strategy, perhaps they're just dumb enough to believe that an interview with you will rectify all the perceived problems with their VIP program.

so it only took me 2 years of listening to the pokercast to find this forum... i feel dumb

i really enjoy the pokercast and i love your variety of guests, thanks guys.

as for a suggestion... i really enjoy aaron jones. his analysis and strategy is spot on and he's got a gift for explaining it very well, very clearly and slowly. i wonder if he went to broadcasting school?!

Hey guys, since you're going to be broadcasting from Los Angeles, why not get Jared Huggins to do a live interview? Something really special is happening in 2p2 right now as we sweat Jared trying to get onto the PS Big Game. He's been spending every evening on his laptop in a Starbucks grinding the qualifiers, and dozens of 2p2ers have been showing up to cheer him on in his quest. In case you've been asleep at the wheel, here's the petition thread that lit a match to the whole thing and a few of the other threads that have popped up since then.
