Good show of course, the eye-opener for me was when Voulgaris mentioned that the UB employees publicly told people that the superuser was in fact russ hamilton's account... I mean it just boggles the mind that all the employees knew about the company owner having an account and supposedly crushing high stakes constantly. Sigh.

That's not quite what he said.

Just to clarify (sorry I was busy dodging Chicago traffic while listening to the Podcast and I was semi-distracted), did Haralabous say he's getting back into the betting?

You should have stuck to your guns on Gasol!

Point of Clarification:

Mike joked about using our "mod powers" to look up the IP address of Russ Harlow's gimmick account. After an incident last summer, "greens" no longer have that ability, I believe it's for "oranges" and "reds". Just wanted to make sure everyone knew that hadn't changed if you were familiar with the original incident.

(Original incident: A mod did an IP search for the IP of a scammer, or someone at least claimed that they did it for them.)

Yeah, thanks for having my back Benny. I worked on the Grizzlies game broadcast for the first 4 seasons(stopped during lockout) so I am a rock on any Grizz trivia from the early days but I didn't work after the lockout so the last year was a bit fuzzy.

Quick Warning: If any of the pokercasties from Vancouver bust or are thrown out of a tournament, it's a bad idea to chirp at them, they're not above 'coming over there' (see the 1 min mark).

Another great episode. Bob was an outstanding interview, as advertised, as it's always fun to hear him talk candidly about whatever is on his mind. When I first listened to PBS and I didn't know much about Bob I thought he was just a curmudgeon but it didn't take long to turn into a fan of his. Hope he does well this season.

I also hope JimmyLegs takes you up on your offering up of Bunner to babysit. Good times.

Great show guys, the interview with Haralabos was very interesting. Added bonus points for getting a former Winnipegger on the show.

Another winner, boys.

not sure if anyone posted this already, but bob was wrong when he said he'd wager that gasol was on the griz when they were still in vancouver. during the offseason when they were likely to move in 2001, the hawks drafted gasol, and traded his rights to the grizzles for rahim, and the grizzlies also drafted shane battier that year. so yeah, bob owes me a million bucks. pfffft professional sports bettor my ass

I swear, if Mike ever wants to change careers, he should consider being a DJ. Best bleeping music selections ever on the Podcast. I can't count the number of singers/bands he's turned me on to.

Thanks, Mike.

Am English and have no interest in basketball, but really enjoyed the guy on this week.
Solid pokercast as usual.

[ ] Shocked at the Mickey mouser giving it the victim line ITT.

It's never their fault

The dialog sampled at the beginning of the Primal Scream track is from the Peter Fonda film, The Wild Angels.

Listening now.

Some great interviews this week.

good job letting the guests talk and not interrupting like most other poker shows

Is it well-known what Haralabos's poker room screen names are?

Listened to last weeks show. Great as always. Haralabos Voulgaris was an excellent interview, well done. Not being from the US i know very little of the NBA but it was still interesting stuff. One quick thing though - i didn't catch what exactly it is that Haralabos does now... he seems to be saying that he's quit betting sports and is now working for the NBA (or a team) in some way. In what capacity does he work for the NBA? He seemed to mention wanting to be a general manager of a team, but i don't recall it ever being mentioned what job he landed (perhaps i'm being dim and missed that and if so could someone please enlighten me...).

Thanks in advance...

Great show. Enjoyed Haralabos interview. Little bit dissapointed that he didnt swear in greek while talking about AP/UB
I still dont know anything about basketball and betting. Although i read "the odds" after the Boston episode. But the lifestyle of people like him intrigues me.
Great guest!
