The Firm, Cocktail and Top Gun, surely :P

Solid show, interview was good, and it's interesting to think about the legislation, too, although obviously there's a lot of water to flow under the bridge. The tax angle is interesting, because players already have to pay income tax on their winnings. Instituting some sort of tax on pots seems to be taxing players twice, which strikes me as a bit lol. So do you exempt poker income from income tax in exchange for taxing a rake (which is easier to ensure it gets paid). Another alternative would be to tax the companies' profits akin to the uk, but then do they have to demand pokerstars et al to come into the us in exchange for a license, and then do individual states get some, or does it go to where they incorporate?

I didn't like the feel of the strategy minute much. The content was great, but i thought it was annoying and adverty to be trailing a new series in what has previously been a pure strategy piece. They are already running an ad on the show, and they get the name check for sponsoring the strategy minute anyway, no need to turn half the minute into another advert.

Have only got thru the first segment.

I'm surprised you guys devoted a full half hour to fantastical maturbatorical congressional inception. While I suppose you are giving the audience what they want, I'll take the under on anything happening anytime soon. Define the terms as you like.

That's like saying I mixed up English and America. I made a bunch of mistakes yesterday but that wasn't one of them IMO.
well actually there are differences. i suppose it was residual tilt from the world cup coverage

Hey Mike if you wanna qualify for the $100K weekly finals, I recommend you play the $11 satellites. At the time I play them (night here so evenings for you guys) there's 27 places paid and 27 tickets awarded.

Now first of all they are incredibly soft. They have 150-200 entries and they are way softer than the $12 180 players Sit & Gos which are infested by regs. These one have mostly fish!

Also when you get to the money/ticket bubble, you can make everyone fold if you have a reasonable stack because so many need the tickets. In a way they are playing a satellite while players, like me, who have already accumulated loads of weekly final tickets and who don't need them urgently are playing a regular MTT. It's basically the easiest bubble to abuse.

So I'd recommend you play the $11 satellites, running every 2 hours. Also since you have less time to play, that's the best format for you.

Great show again. Jungleman interview was pretty good. He sounded very down to earth and was quite open about strategy. Usually the players give away less about their thoughts. Bunner is doing a good job with the invitational/PCL adverts. Good quality and his voice is reasonably well. +Great that you keep PS-Steve as an interview. DC strategy minute was a little bit too commercialized. But ok. It's free so I wont complain

The only thing I dont miss is the Sklansky minute :P (I know Adam does )

I wish you could do a daily show. Until november I have to drive every day 1:30h to work (and 1:30h back obv). Without the 2+2 podcast and Bart Hanson's podcast I would be dead bored. It's good that I have a backlog to listen too ...

Are there any plans on getting Randy Lew on the show? Bart Hanson had him on. Would be great to hear more from him.

After listening to some of the early shows, I certainly wouldn't mind more Ray Zee beaver talk...

1. Another good show, even with the mistakes Mike spoke of.
2. Re: 1. LOL at editing in the password for the Invitational. I never thought Mike Johnson would 'phone it in', but there ya go.
3. Keep up the good work guys!

great show, really enjoyed the interview with daniel.
good luck against durrr

Yeah likewise interview was the best part of the show as far as i'm concerned (but i'm in the uk so tend to fall asleep at UIGEA talk :P)

I guessed TB's age as 40, so was kind of pleased with myself

one thing I was interested in and would really like a follow up to was what exactly jungleman defines as aggressive bankroll management.

I mean does he have defined move up/move down limits, when he was moving up to highstakes in 10 months?

On an unrelated note, Isildur aside, i'd be interested to know the kind of brm the current high stakes players followed on their way up. Dwan for instance, did he always use a 20, 30, 40 bi rule?

Great show, enjoyed listening, thanks

I would be very suprised if any of them did. most will have taken shots and got some run good and some play well and they stick. humans are not good at discipline as a general rule.

Thanks for updates on bill.

Sad to hear it only took Bunner 30 seconds to describe the date. And then a drunk looser goes home with her? WTF? Sorry Bunner! Comeon!@&%

Great Show!

I doubt many of the top high stakes guys have a solid definable br. I mean are we talking about how much they have on the site at the time. How much they have on all poker sites. How much liquid money they have? Do you include debts owed to them, current pieces of other people they have etc.

I doubt many of these guys has much of an idea of how much in total they're worth. But it's this disregard and disconnect from money that allows them to do what they do.
08-06-2010 , 04:14 AM
I was thinking more in terms of when they were on the way up, i.e. what kind of bankroll strategy gets you from the low stakes to the nosebleeds, is it even possible to get there following a good bankroll management strategy, or do they only get there by gambling with their bankrolls? That was more where I was coming from

Missed the one question I wanted you to ask - When the challenge was likely to start!

Surprised Adam doesnt seem to be much of a fan of Arcade Fire - even w/ that 80's sound of their last 2 discs..

Amazing band, +1 Mike saying top 5 or w/e.

You guys make me happy w/ your diverse music selection every week.
