Alright gotta talk about the poker after dark with dennis phillips. Honestly i would much rather watch him play in the big game rather then the scarf wearing dario. I understand that dennis isnt a person that you would normally see in these big games but he brings so much more to the table then dario. I really am not a huge fan of the pad but if i am going to watch it i like to see someone that is a good player and someone that can hold their own with the best players and dennis fits that.

and i really hate that damn scarf! You're indoors. TAKE OFF THE DAMN SCARF!

Hey, I've never posted on this forum much, but I'm a big fan and have listened to all of your episodes. I won't have a chance to post again, I think, but I want to say that your show is awesome. Thanks for the entertainment, the news, and everything. Keep it up.

Thanks for listening. Obviously have to ask how someone with 6,000 posts won't have time to post again. Everything OK?

Nice interview with Lex. I did not like him saying that Phill acted like he was on dope, that's giving bad name to dope.

Lex interview was very one of the best ones in a while. As for the discussion of the Ivey-Antonious hand, you both said it would be bad for Ivey to just chuck his stack in the middle pre-flop given how deep they were, which I agree with totally. But then you both go on to chastise Antonious for calling with aces on the river.

As you said, the stacks are deep. Ivey's pre-flop calling range is a lot wider (he is in position) than just anything that hits that board. Antonious has under-repped his hand.

If Ivey can have 88 he can have 77, 66, etc. Antonious has checked every street, so AK or a boat/quads from him seem unlikely, and he knows that and knows Ivey thinks that, so there is a decent chance Ivey will occasionally bluff with a hand that has no showdown value. It's probably a break evenish play but certainly not terrible.

Just my two cents. I enjoy the show.

While this might be true, the fact that Ivey three bet pf then called the 4 ball takes a good portion of these hands out of his range, or at least reduces them somewhat.

The majority of Ivey's range has PA smashed. I just don't think PA is good 40% of the time there.

But your point that it is an amazing bluffing spot is a good one.

can any1 please tell me how long this episode is?

also, 88 gets there, so he has to have 77 or lower, and TJs/T9s are the only hands he can beat. obv ivey is ivey... PA knows better than any of us if any of these hands are in his range. he could easily show up with these hands in similar spots in bobbys room.

also, what you guys said about ivey usually 'catching the bluff' rather than 'pulling off the big bluff' - its possible that this is just for TV? imo, ivey doesnt bluff much on TV, yet obv he can be bluffing all the time in bobbys room/online. PA knows this.

Anybody has a link to the video with the guy blowing up over the massage girl?

Cool show.

Being from Switzerland I can assure you that you actually did manage to misspronounce Basel. It wasn't too bad but the "a" is closer to an "o" and not like an "a" in english. Still pretty close though

For your discussion on the Sunday Million and the win/loss record when getting heads up, are you sure you weren't counting satty wins in there in which you get a 1st as long as you get the seat...I assume you were using OPR.

OMG, Lex was such an awesome interview! "Esfandiari is just an empty chair that talks", ROTFLMAO.

I didn't know who he was before this interview (I don't watch WSOP coverage) but now I really like him.

BTW, is their any youtube footage of Gus's boxing match? I hope there will be of Lex's fight.

Deuce Plays is the nuts for strategy! Like the 2+2 pokercast, some episodes are better than others. Nolan is a fun interview. Improva's 3 part interview was great strat.

The Russ Fox Deuce Plays interview (not strategy) provides great information on US income tax and poker.

The Pixies and now Bettie Serveert, I'm a fan of your musical taste MJ.

Do you ever get to FrankBlack.net?
You could have played something from FB's Bluefinger to close the interview.
Have you heard the Betties' Venus in Furs?
How many times have you seen them?
Where have you seen them?
How much do you know about the Vancouver/Victoria music scene?
Did you ever write about music professionally?

I thought the person that had the footage is trying to 'sell' it to media?
