VLC will let you experiment with 4x.

I remember seeing a human interest story about a vision impaired guy using the web, he had the voice-over reading the clickable links at a speed you would swear no human could understand. He slowed it down about four times so you could begin to understand it wasn't noise.

lol shots fired, wasn't ready for that drop

never even thought of listening at 2x speed but maybe that's cause I still use a brick ipod that I have had for 10 years

re: table selection, if stars did eventually want to implement something like that they could test it out on full tilt first and see how it goes

I listen to a couple podcasts and prefer 1.5x as speeds things along, but is still easy to listen to. I do bounce around between 1x, 1.5x and 2x depending on the accents of the guests, what else I'm doing while listening, etc.

How does jamie talk on a 3 min delay for twitch? Does he have a separate screen for what his viewers see? Must me hard to play live and talk 3 min behind.

I'm going to try the 1.3x thing for the next episode. Just re-listened to the first minute (well, 40 seconds) of Ep. 354 at 1.5x and it was really uncomfortable.

He admitted to me live in his chat that they are using a "package" from this stream boosting service. Usually they provide viewer bots that ask him standardized questions so he can keep the stream filled with voice talking content to promote his affiliates economic incentives.

Unlike Gripsed, pokerstaples actually plays poker though, so ups to him. Sorry I just hates fake fronting people/religious community social conditioning.

Almost crashed my car earlier today when I got a shout out! The missus wasn't on board, and normal driving ensued so no harm! Thanks guys. (Bucket list has now been reduced by 1 item!)

Great show as always. Both guests superb. Hartigan is tremendous value. I may even have to check out this Twitcher thing...

The drop actually has a big impact at the low stakes - let's say 4 people see the flop in a limped pot at $1/2. Drop ($4) plus $1 for jackpot gets taken out right away (on the flop). 4 players are now staring at $3 in the pot to play for. In a raked game, nothing would be taken out on the flop except for $1 for jackpot (I believe), so pot is $7.
This is California, and it's why I don't play much live cash (not that the tournament juice is good value). I mentioned it elsewhere but I once had a player complete in the SB (blind vs. blind) in a $1-3 NL game. So $5 came out of a $6 pot immediately.

My strategy if I do play these is to tighten up to Kessler-like proportions, and make bigger opening raises pre. Not sure if that's the best method, but it's what I do. At those stakes, you could play with a 5/5 VPIP/PFR rate and still get four callers in every hand. (Not that you would, but you could.)

Lol. Yes, this. I played a 1/3 game last night where the blinds decided to check it down instead of chop because they both had jackpot hands. After full $5 rake plus jackpot drop, the final pot was zero dollars! Then one guy shrugged, "well it's worth the three bucks to see if it hits." I was too stunned to even laugh.

At first I figured that rake would be hard to beat, but my actual experience has proven otherwise. It is probably just what Adam said about people in LA having too much money. I have however, had to make big adjustments moving from east coast to california games.

Yes I talk in real time and the chat heres me and sees the action 3.5 min behind. The chat for me is delayed 3.5 minutes but amongst each other is in time. It works out okay and obviously is necessary on twitch.

This isn't true. Not sure why this guy wants to ruin my rep but every thread with name in it has all of this in it. Ive never used bots, never will. Some in the community are abusing that to boost their numbers. Im not one of them. Feel free to email twitch and ask. Ill post this screenshot from when you introduced yourself to me:

I just want to stream man. Please let me do that, I don't want any trouble

Congrats on a great stream + victory Jaime. Well deserved. Some are maybe confused about what "nightbot" actually does, and confuses this with viewer bots. Anyways, looking forward to many many many more streams

Adam,

Liked the stories from back in the day at HP. Its my "home" casino and brought back memories of how it used to be. I started playing there in 2000, maybe we even crossed paths at the pot limit game. I know you must have more stories to tell. Perhaps sprinkle in a few every once in a while. Bad, rich players....those were the days.

Great ep. As a gamer I've been watching Twitch for a while and it's pretty interesting to see poker come to it. I go back in forth in my head whether it's actually good for the game, giving away free strategy to the masses and all. But overall I think it's a good thing, you can only give away so much info on a stream, and I'm sure it brings people to the game.

I know Terrence hates clickbait and I usually agree, but I had to click on this one

+1. Being an east coast guy, I only got to play there once, and it was only a 2/4 stud game but it was outstanding. 5 or 6 way pots were the norm, and even with the $4 drop you really couldn't lose if you were any good at all.

Another fine show guys, and I think mixmaster Ross has become a key part of the show. The "um" medley gets me every time!
