What is the win rate of those pesky (pro) short stackers? What is the win rate of those pesky (pro) short stackers?

What is the win rate of those pesky (pro) short stackers? I was wondering since I haven't played that much on stars this year and have 60k VPPs to go to make supernova if I could just relatively break even short stacking some to get the points. Also wondering what those 24 tabling short stackers make in terms of PTBB/100...the good ones anyway. Basically, what is a good win rate for 12-24 table shortstacking 20-30bb?

and i actually have a roll to play with....so why not get supernova for like 80hrs of 12 table short stacking?

I think of all the SS'ers I have a decent amount of hands on, there is only maybe 1 or 2 that are in the green. Most are slight losers, even the "better" ones.

only reason i ask obv is because ss poker is easy to play and i can 12 or 16 table it....playing normal 100bb stack i can only play like 6 tables optimally...thus VPP = slow

so you're saying you'd rather be a rakeback pro then learning how to play poker?

DIE!!!!

actually just buy in for 100bb plz.

that is all carry on..................

If my math is right, 80 hours of 12 tabling will only get you like 35K VPP's at SSNL.

seriously. Overall you'd make a lot more money focusing on playing a fullstack well and getting a few less FPP's, 1.5pt is like the MAXXXX you could possibly achieve and I highly doubt you will approach it

sorry, but I'd gladly post a winning shortstacker if I knew one... Yea, i've seen a couple winners, but that was only over a few thousand hands.
every single one I've ever looked up on tableratings that has over 50k hands has had a negative ptbb...

around 31-35k vpps @ 200nl for 80hours of 12 tabling

I've dealt with them for a long time and have never met one that could sustain better than 1BB/100

Gtfo, *****, etc..

Shortstacking simply doesn't work anymore at this level... I used to be one myself and was basically breakeven after fpps. You see a constant stream of people trying it for several months and then eventually they give up.

i disagree. shortstacking just like full or midstacking can be profitable as long as the player is good at playing their stack. there are short stackers that make alot of money but fly way under the radar. not that it really matters but i have 2 shorties in my db with a 1pt/bb win rate over a good size sample. just the fact that you couldnt do it doesnt mean it cant be done. not saying you arent a competant player, just maybe your s/s skills or flipping skills arent good enough
10-02-2008 , 02:23 PM
What sample size? A person with a long term winrate of -0.5 bb/100 and a SD of 30 could be over 1.25 bb/100 even over a 100k hand sample.
