Reg Calling Ranges? Reg Calling Ranges?

This may seem like a stupid question, but what do Regs call raises with? It seems like they always hit sets all the time so I'm guessing pocket pairs and big cards?

Like if I was to open UTG a typical good reg would call on the Button with QQ-22, AKs, AKo, Suited high cards, occasional low suited stuff? Is it usually tigher than this?

I have a hard time betting the flop in HU pots while OOP against Regs. Then I get called. Now what? Do I bet again? Check/call? Check/raise? Check/fold? Sometimes I wonder if I should c-bet anymore, because they keep calling. I feel like I either have to double barrel or give up on the flop. I'm probably c-betting too much, but it is a HU pot and it is hard not to. Can't just wait for hands either, because then they adjust by folding. Damn it smart people.

Yes, pairs, suited connectors, broadways. If stacks are deep and your image is spewey, regs may even call the button with suited aces and one-gappers. The best way to combat this is to avoid these situations by tightening your utg opening range, as well as balancing your c-betting range a bit vs known regs. To do this, check some portion of your value hands on the flop to protect your checking range and c-bet a little less. Of those c-bets, also balance your double-barrelling range by checking the turn with some of your value hands, so that they can't abuse you by floating the flop. In the end, you aren't going to make your money OOP vs good regs. Just minimise these spots, play well enough not to be a mark and focus on getting in vs the weaker players while you are in position.
