PF LP steal/raise/value question? PF LP steal/raise/value question?

10-31-2009 , 05:53 AM
I've been wondering recently what to do in these spots cause folding, calling and/or raising doesn't seem right.

Eg. 66 OTB, folded around to hero. SB & BB have tendancy to 3-bet PF vs LP raise. Stacks are 100 BBs.

Now raising will only attract 3-bets making it hard/impossible for us to call.

Folding 66 OTB folded around seems stupid.

Open limping OTB seems weak.

Advice greatly appreciated.

you should be happy to raise. If people 3 bet you to much then start flatting 3 bets with the correct range, 4 bet bluff a ton and start ****ing slow playing some hands vs them.

If they mix up call and three-bet, then r/f is fine. If they only three-bet, it seems sort of weird to r/f since in that case your hand becomes the same as any random steal. Depending on the stats, I'll often just 4b/c hands like 66 against them and expect to have decent (like ~35%) EQ against their range.

Anyone reduce their button raise sizes in spots like this?

Yes, I would min/raise here against some players, especially good players who 3bet alot, try and make them play 3bet pots OOP.

You would think, but it's actually one of the best. Go fool around w/ some pokerstove ranges. No other bluff has as much equity against his likely stackoff range (TT-AA, AQs, AK, misc 5b bluffs).
