FWIW I went through half a dozen other cheaper closed designs I hated before I bought those. cheap headphones are a waste of time and money.

edit-I just checked the price and the HD-280 Pro's have dropped to around $80, alot cheaper than I paid, and less than some of the other crappy ones I tried.
There is about $15 difference between my Beyerdynamic DT770's and my Sennheiser HD280's $115 vs $100

They are both closed, so have no idea what you are talking about there. The HD280's fit a little snugger and block out more ambient noise and the DT770's have slightly better sound.

I've read a lot of Stephen King books. I don't find him clever although I think 80% of the stuff he has written that got turned into a movie is solid gold. He just doesn't read well for me.

They're Sennheiser DT 770's. Got em a long ass time ago back when I used to play in CS leagues. Noise cancelling headphones are great, only problem is half the block hears you when you talk into your microphone.

there have been some good movies, but some pretty aweful ones too. The only movies I've liked better than the stories/books is shawshank and stand by me. The others are good but you lose alot in making them into movies. Of course, those two are also short stories and the rest are novels. (apt pubil is a longish short story, but I just realized I never saw that movie. I'll have to fix that.)

I almost always like the books better than the movies though, regardless of the auther. I've been a constant reader since I was a kid though, including listening to audiobooks while I play sometimes. Sometimes that works, othertimes it doesn't. It helps if it's a story I've read before and know well. Then if my mind tunes it out for a few mins I don't lose the storyline. Other times I just go back a few mins though and start over.

I still haven't decided if playing bored with music or playing not bored with audiobook is better pokerwise. I play like crap sometimes with either one.

yeah I just searched Beyerdynamic and looked on thier online store and all the models seemed to be in the $300 range. So basicly I donno what I'm talking about. Not surprising when anything computer/audio/electronics is involved.

the entire point to my spew is "I like my Sennheiser HD280's"

GRADOS from Brooklyn are a good alternative, they're open though and terribly ugly but sound is HUGE bang for buck, they're not quite $100... but yea sennys are good too

as weird as it sounds, I dont know If I am degen enough for what they might be looking for. Probably are looking for the type of online poker player who plays like all day and just loses money and keeps re-depositing with parents CC or something. I did include links to youtube vids, stars blog, some threads from 2p2 though.

So true for me that I don't even bother with the movie if I've read and enjoyed the book.

Re: Stephen King...I read a book or two by him but then decided I was wasting my time. OTOH, I never read Shawshank Redemption but it was a fantastic movie.

Enjoy decorating the Christmas tree. It's always fun imo.
