I know not everyone is going to be happy, but I'd like to represent as many points of view as I can.
im a bit out of touch with the games, and i never really bothered looking at fpps/vpps and rates and stuff, but i think given that SNE is way harder to get now at our game type/steaks, it'd be nice if stars implemented another vip level at like 500k

This actually seems like a really good idea. This with a rake decrease would be a decent result.

I don't see how. It's just an arbitary classification; break-even (+ $x in bonuses) or slight winner ($y) + bonuseses ($x-$y)

Although technically it would now be: slight winner ($y) + bonuseses ($x-$y-$Stars' extra piece of the pie)

----------------------------------------

1. Reduce Rake
2. Increase VPP/$1 cash-game rake

Happy hours are horrible. Milestones, reloads, pace bonus, anything but happy hours.
I agree with this 100%.

Sounds like a good idea but I am pretty sure Stars will not change their VIP system after the year has started.

Can't get why you ppl hate happy hours. It's better than nothing anyway.

Theoretically the reason PS changed to WC was to create a fair (or more fair) system. It means they wont give more vpps at the cash tables (your $1 rake worths 7 vpps, but an sng players $1 rake worths 5,5 vpps; why?).

i was merely addressing u saying that stars changing vpp multipliers would affect games other than cash like mtt/sng players. they could make it 10vpps per $1, or remove the vip system altogether for cash players and it would still have no affect on mtt/sng rakeback

as to fairness i dont know? why is there a difference in vpps handed out between 6max and full ring? ask stars that one

Please don't ask. I'm afraid they will increase the 6max-multiplier and we fullring-guys will get nothing - not even the rake-reduction that has been suggested by them in the first place.

To anyone that was interested in my coaching today i have just left a review in Coopah's thread in Poker goals & challenges.
01-11-2012 , 04:55 PM
nice to hear he is working out for ya
did he coach you on a 6max or FR game mike?
01-11-2012 , 05:22 PM
I played 6 tables of 6-max for the first hour while he was writing notes, second hour went over leaks & ways to improve It all seemed like solid advice with good reasoning but i won't know for sure till I've put some volume in as to the effect it will have on my game. I'll report back end of the month
01-11-2012 , 05:38 PM
please tell me you didnt pay the time for him to watch you play and take notes?
i mean ill pay for plugging leaks, but not to watch me play knowadimsayn.

lookin forward to the report, gl
01-11-2012 , 05:49 PM
How is he gonna be able to plug your leaks if he doesn't watch you play? Otherwise it's just a HEM review right?

Thanks
01-11-2012 , 05:54 PM
ok, ill pay if you improve
01-11-2012 , 05:55 PM
but still if you go to a mechanic for a brake job the inspection is free if you get the work done
01-11-2012 , 06:07 PM
Liking your analogy, though now i think i should have bartered in a half price first hour :S

When a person downloads pokerstars and opens the software, the default lobby is filtered to "1-table Sit & Go's". I think if there was some sort of randomizer, or no filter defaulted from the download it would help bring more fish to cash games.

With the way it is set up now "1st timers" have quite a few clicks in order to get to one of our tables, but only 1 or 2 to get registered for a single table Sit & Go. At first thought I assumed Pokerstars had it set up like this to drive fish to the games that brought in the most money, but then I noticed they are the smallest stakes offered on the site so it can't be that.

I'm not sure how much impact this has on our reg to fish ration, but I was talking to a tourney reg last night who said there are probably an average of 3 fish per table a mid-stake tourney, we all know this is not the case for almost any full ring games on stars.
think this idea needs a bit more love. anything to encourage recreational players to the cash tables is good, and this would potentially work for a long-term goal
