Do you have any books I can buy?
Can you teach me to effectively multi-account so that I may catch my opponents off guard?

thanks

hey guys. i'm looking to fill a fantasy baseball league that i've been running for the past 5 years or so. it's only $50 and it's weekly moves so it's not too much work. the stats are a bit different than most leagues and it's auction draft. i should have 2-3 spots open so if you're interested PM me (or msg me on skype if you have that) and i can give you the details. the only requirement is you have to be someone who will actually pay attention/not stop looking midway through the year. thanks

thats my opinion anyways and i just thought id comment since i found it interesting

The get-to-the-bottom-of-it/expose a fraud mentality that results in so many witch hunts against coaches is the same mentality that gets us investigative journalists and consumer advocates. It is not necessarily motivated by any base desire just to **** on someone.

The thing you have to remember, is that it is super easy for a coach to defend himself when he has been completely forthright. I got dragged into one of these witch hunts a couple years ago because I was playing $50 and doing DB analyses for midstakes players, and somebody said that was unreasonable. I basically only had to make three posts (max) refuting the guy and the issue never came up again.

The point being, unless a coach responds to the initial accusation with a data dump showing all of his results, links to PTR, unfiltered graphs, etc. etc., he is almost certainly hiding something negative. Usually, it is the stalling and obfuscation by the coach that causes the community to pile on. In other words, it's not the scandal that kills a coach, it's the cover up.

yeah i remember when you got called out. should link your response to oldschool with a detailed setp-by-step guide.

step 1: don't be a shady arsehole

Nobody has legitimately caught on that since I started playing again the majority of my strategy posts have been of a trolling nature and are purposefully there to stop successful groupthink. Instead everybody just is like YOU ARE A MORAN and then nobody discusses the hand anymore.

This is just a warning from now on to not take most of my strategy seriously

Yes, and I was just wondering what to do about that confession. TBH, I had slacked off in recent weeks in patrolling the strat threads. My bad, apparently, although I definitely would have given him the benefit of the doubt if I had seen him posting questionable strat.

If I see a level in a strat thread, it remains grounds for a perma-ban.

what are the motivations in paragraph 1?

-people affected by the fraud and looking for revenge
-competitors tearing down their comp
-journalists selling headlines
-people looking to shlt on someone
-some loons who think dedicating their time to some random cause is the highest and best use of their time
-1% genuinely interested in what is morally correct and approaching the situation objectively

you cant tell me after reading all the posts on this issue that the tone hasn't crossed the line of an objective inquiry and headed toward out for blood. also a lot of people at the beginning were annoyed at oldschool for bumping his promotions, (hes a paid advertiser) thats people being "haters". factoring in the posters are neither victims or coaching candidates you have to wonder what the motivation is. I honestly believe that deep down a large % of people have a desire to shlt on others. that is whats driving them to follow through on this "moral issue" so aggressively. imo this desire to shlt on people stems from similar reasons kids bully. a very strong desire to shlt on someone or bully is a symptom of some other issues imo. my point was for these people to take a look at themselves and think about their motives.

since nobody seems to understand my point ill explain my view further. im not defending oldschool and have said from the start that i believe the accusations are pretty much spot on. i believe oldschool sees coaching as a more profitable venture than playing poker and has taken an aggressive approach to maximizing profit to the point that his claims are misleading.

again my point is a behavior observation. its nothing to do with taking sides in the oldschool situation. these people might as well have infinite options in the use of their time. they have chosen to go after oldschool. what is motivating that? are they victims? are they competitors? is this the greatest cause they could find? was their no option to build someone up whos doing something positive vs tearing down someone doing something you believe to be negative? imo the probability that these people are motivated by a desire to shlt on someone is very high. i think its very common and i find that interesting
