02-08-2012 , 04:37 PM
there is no assuaging my guilt since i've played more than 1 million hands and made less than that in the last 3 years. thanks for trying though
02-08-2012 , 04:44 PM
i have neither played 1 million hands nor profited 324k from this dumb game

I'm nearing 2mm hands in my current db and even with an SSD it takes forever to load my garf

looking at it now poker is gross, I'm around ~8bb/100 for the graph and I have a ~300k b/e stretch and a ~50bi downer over ~40k hands lol

Wtf are you serious about the 50k DS? FR? I've had 100k break even stretches sure, but never a DS worse than 30 buyins(thats when I played high alot).

How could you keep playing during that, I'm close to suicide after 20 buy in downers. Sure you are probably more level headed than I am, but after about 49 buy ins, arent you like "mmmmm ya Ok I ****ing quit!"?
02-08-2012 , 06:22 PM
i think when you print money to the tune of 4hmvg/100 (holdem manager vertical graphs) it is pretty good motivation to keep playing.

I actually have zero emotion when I play, whether I'm up a bunch or down a bunch I am exactly the same...usually if I'm running really bad it's more amusing to me than upsetting

I lie to my brain a lot to keep it in a good state for poker

oldschool do you offer mental game coaching?

That is really sick, I wish I could relate more to you there. You are like my friend Morgan. He is completely the same way...... I was on the phone with him yesterday for instance, he hed just lost two 30K + pots at PLO the night before and the guy was having a total normal conversation with me about it as if it didnt even happen. You guys are probably sociopaths, but whatevs =)

good one =P, I have awful mental game, I have worked on it alot and its way better than it used to be.

Still, losing even 4 or 5 buy ins feels like death to me. Yet another reason why I do coach, its much more likely to result in a happy experience than a losing session (which bother's me) or upswing session (which doesn't really affect me either way because Im expecting to win). srsly though, **** you =) jkjk

I relate to oldschool more.

I really hate losing although I'm also much improved in that area compared to 3-5 years ago. I don't really play worse when I'm losing, but I can get very cranky/pissed.

Had first 20 buyin downer in awhile and even though I spewed like crazy verbally....I played fin and got out of It like normal

Broke my 4th mouse of the year today. At least it prevents me from spewing off more since I don't have a mouse to play with. Also, I've had three different 300k BE stretches in my life and I'm just under 3ptbb lifetime.

wow just wow - your insane.... don't suppose you can post a graph of some or all of that? If its pain is ass dont worry about it.

I don't think people realize how much variance actually does come into play in samples people think is very large just because of small edges. Puts a lot of the nosebleed winners in perspective too. A lot of those guys have played like 50k hands lifetime and people suck their dicks because of how much money they've won over that sample.

im glad someone finally said it

i always thought i was stable mentally but in 2012 ive already gone through 2 decentish downswings and both times ive been tilty as hell.

Yea, its all across multiple PCs/databases for the past few years. There's no chance I'm gonna try to get a graph of it all. I am positive I've had three seperate 300k BE stretches though and I just sort of guesstimated my WR based on what I remember/PTR and stuff.

I remember when I first started playing 100NL I crused it for 5ptbb+ for a relatively large sample (~400k hands I wanna say) back in 2009. Games were def way softer but I was a lot worse than I am now. I'm pretty convinced that was just the heater of a lifetime. +1 to everything Zach said.

This alone is a reason to get a sweat rake back deal. That is just a little less than a year of poker for me. It would be very frustrating and I would probable give up the game I enjoy playing.

This is basically me, too, although I DO play worse a lot of the time. I either tend to nit it up in lockdown mode or make one or two really spewy bad decisions before I realize I have to quit.

But as I have said before, I broke computers like other people break keyboards.
