NL100 - 88 backraised NL100 - 88 backraised

Maybe it's just that I'm new to NL100, but this is the first time I've faced a backraise... at least since micro stakes where people's play doesn't make sense. I know backraises are meant to be really strong, and I can't play for set value here. Is this just an instafold like when you are limp-reraised, or is there some value in calling with these pot odds?

I just sat down at the table so no stats or reads on Villain.

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $1(BB) Full Tilt
SB ($109)
Hero ($103)
UTG ($56.85)
UTG+1 ($102)
UTG+2 ($109)
MP1 ($174)
CO ($155)
BTN ($100)

Dealt to Hero 8 8

fold, fold, fold, fold, CO raises to $3, fold, SB calls $2.50, Hero raises to $12, fold, SB raises to $26, Hero ???

Fold.

Don't turn 88 into a bluff in what even awful regs are going to easily recognize is a spot you are going to be squeezing light tons.

Yeah, I can't see him folding if I raise. The question is: am I far enough behind that I can fold here, with reasonable pot odds and position in the weird four bet pot?

Of course the answer does seem to be coming out yes...

I very much doubt that a 100nl player is doing this as a bluff. In my experience it's nearly always AK/JJ/QQ that opted to flat the initial raise then decided to go over the top of your squeeze.
