NL 0 "KK" Line Check, how bad did I play this? NL 0 "KK" Line Check, how bad did I play this?

Villain 1 in SB is: 14/10/0.5, PF 3-bet 8 (40 hands)
Villain 2 in CO is: 35/18/2.5 PF 3-bet 0 (92 hands)

My image is fairly standard at this stage and my re-pop from BB would very unlikely be looked at as a squeeze.

$1.00/$2.00 No Limit Hold'em - 9 players

CO: $218.20
BTN: $138.71
SB: $204.00
Hero (BB): $251.98
UTG: $183.00
UTG+1: $59.05
UTG+2: $27.00
MP1: $315.70
MP2: $200.00

Pre Flop: ($3.00) Hero is BB with K K
5 folds, CO raises to $6.00, BTN calls $6, SB calls $5, Hero raises to $30.00, CO calls $24, 1 fold, SB calls $24

Flop: ($96.00) 6 Q Q (3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, CO checks

Turn: ($96.00) 3 (3 players)
SB bets $18.00, Hero calls $18, CO raises to $54.00, SB folds, Hero folds

Was I just too weak on the flop.

In what ways could've I played the hand better.

Is there anyway a turn call is correct.

It's probably the SB i'm fearing for a Q, seems quite conservative.

Comments on all streets greatly needed & appreciated.

This is such a ****ty spot. I think the flop check is the best choice of a bad bunch. SB is never calling a flop bet as he has a small/mid pair and was mining. The problem is that you want CO to call a flop bet with weaker hands but you'd probably be sick in your mouth if you bet the flop and he did call. That seems to indicate checking the flop is the more favourable option.

In the heat of battle I'd probably have just called the turn like you did and would then hate life and fold the CO's raise. However, having just had a few moments to think about it I'd probably put in a small raise on the turn. The reason for this is that I feel SB's range is quite well defined and I doubt he has better than KK here very often. He's also made a gay bet of $18 so I'd go ahead and raise that to $50-55 (or maybe even a sicko min-raise). This makes it impossible for CO to continue without making the exact strength of his hand known. SB will usually fold but there was little value to be had from him anyway. However, occasionally he might call with JJ-88 type hands and hope you check-back the river (and were bluffing)....and you will, of course, check-back the river unimproved.

There is a far, far, far greater chance of CO having a queen than SB IMHO. SB is in here with AQ at worst but he'd usually fold that pre most of the time IMHO. CO can have Q9s, Q10, QJ, QK, AQ and probably wider!

Bet flop, get it in. They will have a ton of PP, and you don't want a scary card on the turn.

The call for 1/6th pot/fold on the turn is so lolbad, CO is protecting with 66+ when he sees 2 huge fishes in front of him just minbet.

theres half a stack in the pot on the flop. id bet for thin value, something like $40. if they have 88-JJ they call. if they fold, fine, we collect the dead money. as a side effect of betting, you gain information.

turn is sick. its an extremely good spot for CO to bluff. he can raise really small and use leverage. he risks 54$ putting a lot of pressure on you. if you call his raise, you have to play for stacks and he risks only very little. you two dont have a Q there most of the time (SB bets a 5th of the pot and you just call), so bluffing there is extremely profitable. but this kind of villain just isnt good enough to bluff there. i dont think hes ever bluffing there, so id fold to his raise. raising the SBs gay bet is silly for obv reasons.

Well thank you all for your great reply my turn call does look weak.

Thanks Acevader for your detailed response, I like your idea of raising turn to $50-$55.

Holdem Lol you make a good point as well about betting the flop.

I'm pretty much the mayor of nit city and this hand along of some of the advice is shockingly weak to me. A fish like the CO is happily going to call off his stack with 77-JJ, so bet the flop for value - $48 seems good. SB will almost never have you beat here except in the rare case he's getting dumb pre with 66.

As played there is no way I'm folding to the turn action but I'm too tired to figure out what line I like best to maximize value. Probably call then time down open jam most rivers.
