Needing a quick opinion on this hand nl200FR Needing a quick opinion on this hand nl200FR

Villain is 24/12, knows I'm pretty LAG from a small history and is very capable of being aggressive. I figured there's just way too much range that calling or maybe shoving would be the most +EV but sadly I ended up timing out before I could think to click to timer at end of a long session.
Thanks for the thoughts.

This is so bad for the redline. River is a must call after all that weakness shown.

i'd rather bet turn and c/c the river
11-03-2009 , 03:21 PM
bet turn because draws and there is some worse Kx/straight draws that will call esp btn vs c/o

river is soooooooooooo tough its a check but either a c/f or c/c the reason for the check is not much value left. Man its really tough lots of draws missed if you think he bluffs here then c/c alot of my friends said that. I lean towards a c/f cause he isnt bluffing this spot as often as u think, but **** i wanna c/c zzzzzzzzzzz ITS close very close i think

the river decision is if you bet turn not if u c/c turn.

He's also rather aggressive and I felt at the time , and still feel, that one of the best ways to extract value from a player like this is to check OOP and let them think they can aggro me out of the pot. The only reason the river was a tough spot for me is because there are still quite a few draws that got there, even though I think he's holding runner runner cards very rarely, but I also figured he would have bet weaker or stronger if he didn't have it. For some reason this bet size really set off my caution button and I had a long think, and ended up timing out.

Checking the turn is fine for pot control. It makes calling this river fairly easy.

Why would you want to pot control with a monster in a board of this texture?

Also OP you need to be congruent and call river if you check turn.

I agree. If you are going to check the turn you have to call the river.

Bet the turn dude.

The only thing you beat here is a bluff, as played I would fold river. I like betting turn though to fold out an aggro player who likely floated the flop. If he calls you can reasonably put him on a decent draw and check fold to bad river card (like the one that hit) and check call on a blank river card.

Everything is so marginal here. It's a good hand to post. A lot of people I think will have strong opinions about how the hand should be played ITT. But I think both checking and betting the turn is fine done to decent frequency, and when we check the turn we should call usually on the river but here the board is REALLY gross, it ran out pretty gross that is and his bet size looks very valuey, so I don't know once in a blue moon you might find a hero fold. But I'd probably call.

after the flop play,

b/f turn > c/c turn c/f this river > c/c turn c/c this river
11-03-2009 , 07:25 PM
i rekn b/f turn is the best line to take and am c/c river here

Bet turn. As played, river is a fold. I'm pretty sure he's bluffing turn very rarely as the vast majority of his range has showdown value. The only reason why the turn isn't a fold is because he could be VBing something like KJ and even against two-pair you have a good amount of outs.
