when using pokertracker or holdem manager, what stats do you label: nit, tag, lag, fish

example: 11 (vpip) 6 ( raise preflop) =nit, and 15 6 = tag/reglular
20-24(vpip) loose player 25+ fish?

what do ya'll label them and what are ya'lls thoughts?

just trying to get better...

thanks

plays more hands pre than me: lag
plays less hands pre than me: fell asleep at computer

I label them as nits only if they are both really conservative in general AND don´t loosen up in steal/resteal battles.

I label them as sLAG only if they do whatever they do in a way that bothers me; if I feel like I can read them well and adjust accordingly, I label them as "reggish" which is my standard for standard players.

I also use a label "mediocre" for players who exercise some reasonable hand selection preflop, but limp/call or cold-call too much.

i like the animal system: Eagle, Jackal, Fish, Whale, Turtle, etc.

Giving people the animal labels really simplifies a lot of post flop decisions I have to make game time.

purple = fish

red = good reg.

Stop giving such invaluable advice to new players. Games are tough enough as it is.

I only use labels for pre-flop. True story.

why?

in most cases its just enough to identify fast whether its a fish or a reg?

the rest can be seen (often) by one view on vpip/pfr, or of course better reads.

My comment was rather obviously a joke.

Every day is Christmas on your tables!

To OP, your labels aren't too bad, it's more realizing that not all 14/10's play alike, same for 17/14, or whatever. Notes are just as important as color codes.
