This hand came up as i was closing down, i got 26 hands on the villain @31/8 otherwise no reads. I cant help thinking about it....i feel like such a nit, who reraises the flop? or is there a better play i cant see?

I was real tempted to call the river but bottled it.

I guess this is OK vs a kinda passive fish, think people will tell you to bomb the flop though as well.

I think you played it OK, I would definately call the flop raise and not 3bet. I think if you 3bet you are going to get 4 bet most of the time. River fold is probably best.

I would check the flop.

OMFG, you're from Lechlade. I went to there once out of sheer boredom as i like carp fishing, to visit horseshoe lake Ended up goin this little random pub for a pot of tea as well lol. Really nice little place.

Pre is fine.

This flop bet seems awful against this villain type. Just value-bet him for 9ish. As played, whether or not to call his raise is tough since you bet so little on the flop. I guess this is fine.

lol, that bet on the flop is really a clownbet imo.

If it is a passive villain I will fold, if its a (semi) aggro villain, I will ship it.

you need to be more on the flop with your overpair if youre going to bet. betting less than 1/2 pot invites him to raise you and makes it sticky. if you bet 9ish hes almost never bluff raising and youre getting value from his draws.

i think this is viable if the flop is less scary. even if we CBH to let his junk catch up slightly and to pot control, were not getting much when his junk catches up to make bottom pair

yea i guess i was kinda expecting a check raise and wanted to limit my exposure by betting small, although i do habitually cbet smaller than most.

i think ur right tho if i bet more and got raised at least i'd know where i was a bit better as the small cbet just invites a bluff.....thanks guys
