How Can You Be That Bad? How Can You Be That Bad?

03-21-2010 , 06:03 AM
2/3 live game, Hawaiin Gardens Casino. Young middle eastern kid has sat down last 30 mins to my right, constantly raiseing, I've 3 bet him about 25% of the time and he folds generally. 1 Hand he calls, I hit TP solid kicker, he tries to bet 60 into me i go all in he folded. So that's the history, hes hyper aggressive but is capable and knows what he is doing (seems).

I have AA out of the BB, $450 deep. He has about $400. He makes it 15 out of the SB. Now the last 2 hands hes raised preflop, I've 3 bet him and he folded, 1 time I showed him a bluff. So I re-raise to 55, knowing he will think I am putting a move on him, so I'm anticipating him coming over the top, or if not at least the pot will be sizeable to get it in on the turn. As I reach for my chips to raise him, he says "Here comes the re raise". So he calls.

Flop is: K84

He bets out $100, he verbally says it and as hes reaching for the stack I say all in. He looks at me and says you got me, and I ask him does he call. He says yes, and I asked 1 more time to confirm (lol I didnt believe he said call) I turn over AA he says you got me, turn is a 8 river is a blank. He shows 86 He says I thought you were bluffing and theres $200 in the pot allready. Even if I am bluffing, how the **** do you make that call???

Could I have played my hand any better?

The funny thing is that these posts are never a legitimate bad beat or cooler. "OMFG, he made a call that was minus $10 in EV against my AA after I was repeatedly bluffing him. BUT HOW COULD HE?!"

So...uhhmmmmmm,,, you WANTED him to fold?????

how can you possibly be playing at such high stakes?

No I did not want him to fold. Even If I'm bluffing him, how do you make that call?

Right. He made a call on a 3 bet pre flop, king high board with middle pair.

What's your point? He had 25% equity and needed like 28% to make a profitable call against your AA. If there was even a small chance you were bluffing, it would be a snap call. Why don't you try learning the game before you criticize other players?

But he said he thought you were bluffing, and middle pair beats no pair, right?

do you even understand poker? do you understand what the concept of somebody bluffing is? If you are bluffing, his call is not only good, it's great. You weren't bluffing this time, so you got it in good and lost.

How can you be that bad

jesus ****ing christ, you have got to be seriously ******ed if you think berating a fish for getting his money in bad against you is a good way to make yourself feel better for losing the pot

I 3 bet pre flop, and come over the top of his intial flop bet $100. How often is someone bluffing in this spot in a 2/3 live game? I'm pretty sure your an online only/mostly player, so I will answer it for you. 99% never bluffing here, people @ 2/3 are not capable (unless drunk, on drugs, etc. but then its obvious) of making moves like that 4+B.I.'s deep at this level for the most part. I understand your logic of if I am bluffing he is in the right to call. But my hand tells a consistent story, it's not like I checked till the river and went all in. Either way, I feel I played my hand good and got unlucky.

You know what, you're right. Now please accept both my deepest condolences for your misfortune in the hand and my extreme gratitiude for creating this worthwhile thread. May I also reccommend that you take this inspirational story and go and tell someone who gives a f**k.

Even if the max buyin is $100 you cant go calling $400 4+ BI deep when the big blind is $3.

It annoys the crap out of me when people make a bad beat post and end it with this. A four-year old could have played your hand just as well...I mean, you have the nuts, and you get the dryest friggin' flop ever against a maniac. The hand plays itself. If you're going to whine this much over one bad beat, I don't think you have much of a future in this game.
