General question re 100nl General question re 100nl

06-13-2008 , 06:26 PM
Just stepped up to 100nl and I've lost 3 and a bit buy ins (2 we're unlucky, 1 was terrible play) and I've also made some bad calls etc.

My question is, should i just play my regular 50nl game or are there some things I should adjust to? I'm kinda making the mistake I made when I moved up to 50nl in thinking that everyone is making a move, raising me light etc and I'm calling more than I should.

overadjusting is one of the bigger mistakes people play when moving up.

just play your game and get accustomed to the money before worrying about changing everything up

False.
Don't assume too much though. Like just because someone has 3-bet you twice doesn't mean they're messing with you. They won't have much of a reason to if they don't know your game and will probably be 3-betting mostly for value. Don't get fancy playing back/ calling down light until you've developed more history or have solid stats. Just take it to the fish. They really give it away just as easily.

what part of mine was false then?

regs arent the same.

in general most regs at 50 are stuck there for the complete opposite reasons 100 regs are stuck there

You guys are thinking about the 3-4 regs at 100nl with an actual brain, think about all of the other FPP pros making 1ptbb/100

There are more than 3-4 regs with a brain. Do you play 100nl, spenda? Plenty of them are 2+2 as well and def have a brain. There are also even several regs of higher stakes that drop down and play 100nl every so often - must be when the games aren't good higher. EurekaKid, Studboy and Tenven come to mind.
There are certainly people to worry about but just play tight and loosen up as you get a sense for what players are playing back and when they're doing so.
