Villain is 20/15/3.5 and probably one of the most aggressive/maniacal players i've played with in recent memory.

Bet on the flop was to induce a shove from the moron.

your line sucks
03-24-2008 , 09:42 PM
holy **** $120 on the flop and shove the river are you ****ing kidding me you ****ing chump
03-24-2008 , 09:43 PM
Also I'd check the flop because "MoronFish" will bet here 95% of the time.

If JPette calls you can trap a lot of money before raising.

I've seen better lines on a curve bro

This looks bad which guy is the maniac? I dont hacve the slightest idea why you would ever check this down. I mean if you have money to burn why not move up limits.
03-24-2008 , 10:11 PM
check flop, you don't need to build a pot when it already only needs 2 bets to get huge.

i don't terribly mind the turn check as played but i think theres some value on the river. idk, though i mean he def isn't calling with much.

you know you hit a set? I mean 33 UI is close to a vbet vs superstationpette
03-24-2008 , 10:23 PM
FWIW, as played you should bet like $120 on the river and snap-call a shove.
03-24-2008 , 10:23 PM
Your line is so fat it has its own zipcode.

Oh yeah, bet river.
03-24-2008 , 10:24 PM
I'd have thought any type of bet on the river has to be better than checking.

Given his description, perhaps a weak looking river bet is the best option. Ideally it will induce a bluff shove, but it also offers you some value of course.

i actually think you took the worse line possible

this is a good point. I initially assumed that he knew he had a set, but after thinking about your post, I've realized that this thread makes a lot more sense if he misread everything.

i'm not a fan

overall some pretty weak disses in this thread iyam

bet flop = bad
check turn = ok to good
check river = really really bad

look on the bright side, table took some good notes: "will check down set after called on flop, super conservative"
03-25-2008 , 02:42 PM
im really interested in what you were thinking on the river
03-25-2008 , 02:52 PM
this is an obvious level thinking imo.

its obvious villain knows that hero is gonna bet river here alot of the time, however hero is aware of villain knowing this, this is why a check is correct cause villain knows hero leads weak he must have a strong hand here. preferably a set that wants to check/raise a river vs a player who leads much rivers.

imo.
