3 barrels of bluff 3 barrels of bluff

Villain seems like a nitty reg (16/8, doesn't steal much) but we don't have much history and I don't know much about how he plays postflop.

How do we like my 3barrel in this spot? With the nature of the board I expect to get c/r by a good made hand on the flop or the turn. Also, this board isn't great to two barrel so my range is weighted towards stronger hands when I bet the turn. If he suspected that I was semi bluffing most of those hands got there by the river.

I feel like he can have one pair here at the most. The only thing I don't like looking back on it is the size of my river bet. I think 82 is a shade too large if I was value betting because his calling range is fairly weak. I'm not sure if he's the type of player that can pick up on this stuff though.

Not repping an over pair. Possibly AKd. Still looks suspicious. You wont be opening j9. Not exactly a great board for tt. However, its still not an easy call for one pair but he may not believe your story. A reg may just make that hero call.

one other bit of info i'd like to add is that he snap called the turn, usually indicative of a weaker hand.

Seems fine to me. Against a decent player I'd be worried about sets 2p etc but the 3 barrel looks fine. I might not c bet 100% of the time on that flop though.

I´m afraid this is QQ/JJ a lot, and he´s not folding although he´s pissing his pants whenever there´s a river bet and he has less than middle set.

Your turn barrel is good but when he calls my "weak/tight villain" specific alarm bells go on.

very poorly played imo

i think its pretty needless to even put urself in these marginal spots.

ok so it seems we are all over the board here... the responses go from "i like" to "very poorly played"

obviously my bias leads me to accept the positive responses since i liked the play when i made it. so let me ask, what makes this so bad if you don't like it?

I'd like to have some sort of read on villain before making a move like this.

But then I'm a nit

you posted strat on 2p2, you'll get leveled at least once sir.

I think the 3 barrel is fine against described opponent. I think its one the don't c-bet or unload the clip spots. You chose the latter and i think that's fine... that sad it is definitely reasonable the play could be chasing some flush on the flop/turn.

2 barreling and giving up on the river in this hand is likely the worst possible line by a longshot.

oh sorry btw but when I get c/c'd on this flop I'm pretty sure that if I elect to 2 barrel that I will have to 3 barrel as well. So i'd like to see a larger turn bet to set up the big river bet. I'd take this line with my strong hands as well.

** to be fair, against some people 3 barrels is 3 barrels and sizing won't matter, so if they let you 3 street bluff for cheap then go ahead.

i don't mind it too much tbh as said if you fire the turn you must fire the river

I would say this is pretty standard if you had bet more everywhere.

this is awesome imo. you're repping nothing but a flush...
two barreling with a flush draw is pretty standard so he'll give you lots of credit for a flush (on flop, turn you can very much have an overpair or a flush draw... on river you can't really have an overpair anymore so you have a flush)

you got to love it when they call river and show you the baby flush there.

i'm also repping sets and KK+, not betting those hands on the river would show a strong dislike for money.

I think this is fine. One of those boards where he's unlikely to have more than 1 pair and where 1 pair just can't call.

I do think the flop cbet is kinda marginal.

is the turn barrel std cos he he can have a host of lil pairs?
