hi

my image is tagish, 17/14 with fairly tight ep opens, villain is 18/15 with 35% fold to cb and 6% 3b he bets when checked to 38% on the turn

i don't think i've played any big pot with this villain, so there's not much meta going on

my plan was to c/r turn so i can set up stacks for ez river shove, that's why i c/r small, but i don't like that now -.-

river is rly gross, what's optimal line here vs this type of villain

You've virtually answered you own question. Bet the more on the flop, and c/r shove the turn.

I know u mostly want a comment on the river decision, and not so much the turn, but I gotta say as drawy as that board is OTT, I c/r more. I mean, like, $120 or maybe even a shove, the reason being that you give a lot of combo draws that have decent equity the right price to call w/that second heart on the board There may be more optimal lines, but as played, I c/c river. I don't anticipate being behind much of his range here, unless hez a fish, and his stats suggest otherwise. The way he played it,, he could have easily have middle or top set, maybe he even flopped a miracle with T9/54, but I think those have to raise this turn. There are a couple of open-enders w/an over that brick out on that river too. Also, there are some flopped 2-pair hands that he could've taken this line with. Idk, I just don't think he has a better hand often enough here to make this a c/f or b/f.

I agree. (Sorry, I thought of more.) Admittedly, I don't think this clearly on the fly, in-game, ofc. I wish I did. But when we flop a strong hand like this on a board like this, what turn cards complicate our lives? Any T, 9, 5, 4, club, diamond, heart, and if it should happen to be a combination of those (9d?), we're really gonna be faced w/difficult decisions. Boards like this get ugly a lot quicker. So, I think the optimal line is what Saber said. Maybe bet full pot OTF & either full pot on just about any turn to both protect and extract value or a c/r since he's so likely to bet when checked to. (If any of the aforementioned cards falls, we're gonna bet huge to protect or c/r, and if an over comes, he may be more likely to stack off w/a TP or 2p hand.)

river is either a c/f or a c/c, i probably c/c vs. said villain

I'd almost say you turned your hand into a bluff with the c/r...but i guess it's possible he can b/c with 99-QQ..probably really unlikely though

Wtf? You have a half pot bet on the river. Just bet.
