Leaning Towards Stoxpoker Leaning Towards Stoxpoker

12-03-2007 , 05:45 PM
For my Christmas i was offered as a present a years membership with either Stoxpoker or Cardrunners. I have seen some of the videos for stoxpoker and I am leaning towards that over cardrunners. I have a few questions first though

Which one is cheaper? Cardrunners or Stoxpoker?
So far I am not a winning player and have had to drop limits due to bad play which site would help me the most at this current time?
Which one has the best deals?
Could I possibly view 1 full video to make up my mind? Just so i know how much explaining is being done in each video? Is that possible?

I don't think any training site can beat the 1 year membership deal going on at Stoxpoker right now. It was supposed to end last month but I think they extended it to the end of December.

Pretty sure both sites have demos you can view. Not sure if Stoxpoker is still showing full demos. I suppose it would be a good idea to have a couple to help sell the site.

Currently StoxPoker is a notch cheaper at $60 to sign up as opposed to $90 (I think) and $20 a month as opposed to $25. We are also running a promotion at the moment where we're giving away free books and poker software (PT, PAHUD etc) for 6 month or 1 year signups.

I think either site would be of value to you. We do have Ed Miller releasing videos for a poker made simple series specifically targeted at more entry level players.

We have several free videos available that you can watch. Just click the video tab and they should be at the top of the page. Additionally we have free 3 minutes demos of every single video in our library available on that same page.

This is where Stoxtrader usually jumps in and reminds people that Stoxpoker also offers a money back guarantee for 1 week so you can view several full videos, read the forums, etc.

What set stoxpoker apart for me was the community and the forums - everyone is professional and helpful and the atmosphere is one of serious players learning how to win (and sharing their success). I haven't checked out the other sites in a few months, so they may have improved, but stoxpoker was an easy choice when I signed up.

It makes me very happy that you enjoy stoxpoker. The forums are great aren't they. Before I was an instructor I was a member of Stoxpoker and the thing I loved the most were the forums. Everyone is always so nice in the forums

I second everyone's recommedations of Stox Poker. How many other sites have so many pros together that are experts in their specific games that you can access 24/7 in order to improve your play?

I'd recommended reading their books, than you can see them put the plays into practice through videos, and if you're still confused, they'll answer your questions in the forums. Best of all I got my membership through a promo.

In less than a month my poker's improved in both cash, SnG & MTT.

I'm playing at the 6 max .5/$1 limit level going for about 1-2BB over 10k+ hands.

SnG's I'm over 20% ROI

I've cashed in my last two MTT's (played about 4) and yesterday I won a ticket into Full Tilts $750k guarantee from a $3 buyin (worth $215).

Yes, I'm running pretty hot but I'd say Stox Poker has definitely greatly contributed to my success so far.

Let's just hope I can win the Sunday tourney for $130,000 and give Stox's a whopping big testimonial..

Here's hoping

Although primarily a Limit player I've started getting into PLO a lot more recently. I've found the PLO community at Stoxpoker although small, quite well informed. People have taken a lot of time to respond to my posts with detailed answers that get right to the crux of my question. Also, now that Robert is on board (see: http://stoxpoker.com/node/1538 if you've no idea what I'm talking about) we're going to see a lot more PLO video's as well.
