Nice to have a 'normal' round with standard, maybe even a bit above average, ball striking the day after being unable to hit any shot. Putting really wasn't up to recent standards but it wasn't too bad.

Feel like I started down the swing change rabbit hole, and my ball striking has not been good lately. I had felt like I was taking the club back too inside and getting stuck, so I've been working on a more upright backswing, with a Malaska-move type motion in the transition. When I perform it correctly the club feels lighter and the contact feels great. However I am still thinking way too much during the swing. It's pretty ragged right now.

Think I only hit 3 GIR the entire day. Only bright side was that my chipping was on point, much better than usual for me. Got up and down for a few pars and managed to avoid any double bogeys. Only thing that was working, probably the only reason I managed to stay below 90.

You sound exactly like me ... I know I have a Kuchar type swing which I hate but when I'm at the top I shallow it even more which makes me crazy inside. Oddly enough I'm fairly straight with it but lack the distance which I need to probably get me to single digit HC.

I haven't ever fully committed to fixing it though but over the coming months I think I will get to the range a bit more.

Yeah sounds like me. After watching some Malaska videos I realized that the weight/momentum of the club is making the club want to move even more inside in the transition. This is the point of the "Malaska move", to try and tip the club forward and redirect the momentum in transition, to keep the arms in front of the body. Like I said when I do it correctly it feels great. Faster club speed and the club feels light, almost weightless. Problem is doing it correctly.

I've also been working on a video by Waldron called "The Arm Swing Illusion", which basically addresses the same issue from a different standpoint... idea being that the arms don't move side to side around the body in the swing, they actually move more up and down. But when combined with the pivot, the illusion is that you are swinging your arms side to side. Just another feel to try and keep the club in front of me and synched up with the pivot.

Short but super tight course. Played decent for the most part just a few holes where I just compounded errors. Par 3's were killers for me.

For someone who doesn't lose a lot of balls I lost quite a few today. I'm like 99% sure that I even lost one that got stuck up in a tree.

Beyond tipped out - Played one step in front of the end of the furthest back tee boxes. Plays around 6750 yards

My posts sounds like a broken record, but I really feel a lot better about how I played than my score indicates, although the bad thing is the round got worse as it went on. We started on #12, and after a double where I skulled a 70 yard wedge shot into very bad trouble I played the next six holes one under. Unfortunately I followed that with two doubles in a row. I was still confident, though, since I was hitting the ball well, just having trouble with the wind and greens that were much faster than they have been. Just didn't happen.

The greens went from horribly slow winter greens to *almost* summer greens in a couple weeks, those being weeks I haven't played. I wasn't ready for them, but realized I need to bring that back into the fold when it comes to course management. Our greens have quite a bit of slope but aren't bad in the winter. Now they are slippery slippery, and you do not want to be above the hole on most greens.

9 hole roll up, 37 +2 got 20 points.

My lower back has been super tight all day and was a bit S**t on the course. Despite that played pretty well.

Wind was up, I counted my points on the 9th tee and I knew if I was to have any chance I would need a birdie. Tee shot was dead into the wind. Decided to grip down on a driver and hit it perfect. Had Wedge in and stuck it to 5 feet. Hit a horrible putt but went in (Score card doesn't know and all that )

It's super hard to win these things though. Think I would have to shoot like -1 or Level to stand a chance. The only good thing is I'm pretty consistent with this. Weeks I've played I think I've had 19 or 20 points playing off like 4 for 9 holes.

Pretty steady day except for the first 3 wood off of 3rd tee that went OB which led to a double.

Started in a more competitive group on Saturdays now. Play a quota game. Quota would normally be a 32 but they give you a 2 point penalty til you establish with their group. Ended with 37 points.

Nothing real good (other than hybrids, oddly enough).

Perfect conditions other than our playing partner throwing a tantrum every time he hit a bad shot. Back still a bit iffy (might actually be helping me stay a bit more stable)

2 Birdies back to back on 16 and 17 to give me a level back 9. Made one error on the back 9 and that was on a 120 Par 3 hit it long into the edge of the bush. Was playable but just a tough shot ended up making a double.


Won our little comp we had between us all got 43 points,

My gf broke 100 for the first time yesterday - shattered the barrier and shot 92. It was awesome just hit a lot of solid shots and no blow ups and no back to back bad shots.

She made 5 pars and only one triple on a long up hill par 5 with two canyons to clear.

She hits driver like 180 with roll. Plays like 10-12 times a year and picked the game up at 25

Lost 5 golf balls and it was a bit windy. Flying to North Carolina tomorrow and if there is no flight delays going to play Duke Univ Golf Course late afternoon.

Saturday: 46-43 = 89

My worst round that I can remember. Greens went from slightly faster than slow winter greens to almost summer speed, and I couldn’t adjust.

Sunday: 34-39 = 73

Personal best by two strokes, and I bogeyed 17 and 18. Five birdies, six bogeys, including bogeying all three of the par 3s. Drove the ball ok, but felt incredibly confident with everything from 7 iron down. Made a couple low percentage birdie putts, but also missed a couple from five feet in a should have made.

Funny how the goal posts change with this game…yesterday I would have been ecstatic to shoot in the 70s. Today, sitting at -1 on 17, the 73 was disappointing.

No scores higher than 5, so I guess I parred all the par 5s. About the most positive thing I can say, it was a mixed bag.

I've developed a lovely swing flaw that produces popped up drivers. Doesn't seem to affect anything else, but it's annoying af to hit a drive 140 yards forward and about 140 feet in the air.

Holed out from about 60 yards on the hardest hole for Birdie. On the 8th I hit Driver off the tee to try and hit the green left it out right and had to take a drop as it went into a bush, Had about 50 yards from the drop and pitched it on and hit the flag, holed the putt for the par and then finished with a birdie on 9.
