I'm starting to drop the "cautiously" from the optimistic...had the lesson today and just striped them. Pro said what I suspected...while to me it feels very inside, my "new" takeaway is very much in the normal range, neither inside or outside. Felt great to belt a bunch of solid irons out there.
His putting tips helped, too. I've always been good enough (certainly above average compared to recreational golfers) at putting that I haven't bothered with a lesson, but this could be another game changer. For as long as I can remember I've extended my pointer finger down the grip. It's comfortable for me and makes me feel like I have more control over the putter, but the irony is every few strokes I tend to flick that trigger finger and thus my wrists. So I'm going to be practicing with a completely different grip and shorten my putter (I'm a short human) to help me get my eyes more over the ball. Next stop, the Tour....
