Did my 2nd card for my handicap today, 1st card was 81, Today was a 72. Anything between 74-79 is a decent around my local for me.

3 putts are creeping into my game a little more these days had 3 today.

Only real highlight was a awesome shot on Par 3 about 180ish uphill, Hybrid for me actually hit what I wanted which was a nice high draw and stuck it to 5 feet past with it pitching pin high. Holed the birdie.

Wind was a bit tougher today but put my final card in for my handicap 81-72-78 are me 3 scores.

40 degrees partly sunny decent breeze from the south today in Massachusetts. Half the greens had been airated and sanded. My only brag is that I played 9 holes with a single ball. My best hole was the finishing hole on the 9 hole course. Driver from the back tee to 138 out. Hole is 394 on the card from the tip of the tee box. Hit 7 iron to the back of the green pin high 15 feet left. 3 putt bogey lol. No pars. Glad I went.

Warm Dec day in NJ today, upper 50s. Started out terrible, felt out of sync, shot a 46 on the front. Went on a nice run of 6 pars in 7 holes on the back to shoot 39 and end up with a respectable 85.

Coolest part was that I got to play with a WW2 vet who was 101 years young. He flew 36 missions in the war. He played all 18 and hit the heck out of the ball. Super nice guy too. Quite an inspiration.

One thing I love about golf sometimes you play with some randoms and get to know them over the 18 holes. I’ve played with so many different people since playing golf again and genuinely have been a pleasure to play with. Great way to meet new people.

That's awesome; not sure I want to live that long but if I'm healthy enough to hit the ball maybe I do!


Hit 60* here in Colorado today - got out. 41-41 82 with a birdie on a tough, long par-4 which felt great!

Woke up not feeling like I wanted to play,1 guy in our group pulled out so was just a 2 ball in the end. Turned up early so I could hit some balls on the range but when checking in guy said just go whenever. Being a cold windy day I ditched the range so we can just get it over with. Strange enough I actually played some decent golf today. It's 5600 Yards and 66.10/112 in ratings so not super difficult but it's pretty tight with a lot of trees. My best round this course is 85 but I'm probably averaging closer to 90.

Now I don't want to be all big headed but I actually hit a Par 5 in 2 today for the first time in a while. Tee's were knocked forward a little and if you hit the right drive you'll find that speed slot in the fairway. Shotscope say's it went 274 which would be my longest. I only had about 140 in, I bottom grooved my 8 iron to 30 feet Pin was tucked on the front with anything short going in the water, Hit a good putt but just a foot short tap in birdie.

My playing partner was having a nightmare, I don't normally score anyone else but me but I noticed from previous rounds he was making his score up so I decided to mark him today without him knowing. He said he shot 90 I have him at 99. I don't really care he's a 20 Handicapper and he's only cheating himself (We don't play for anything).

Have not posted in a while. Been really, really bad. I have struggled to break 80 for the last month or so. Finally starting to come out of it. I think I have shuffled through 4 putters in that time and I also have gone back to my old driver. Last 2 rounds have been 78 and 74.

I think it has been a re-learning process on one of the courses with the new greens. Fast AF with some really big slopes added to them. Also add that they are very firm and you have to learn the rollout on the greens.

Yesterday was one of those funny days where things don't exactly go as planned. I had worked the previous 5 days and was scheduled for a 6th ten hour shift in a row. Thankfully it's not a long commute because I was excused upon arrival at about 1am. At that point I was fully caffeinated so I stayed up till dawn. I pulled into the course at 615 right behind the solitary ground worker. I did some light dynamic muscle warming and mobility drills in the parking lot. In my head I even went back about 30 years to when I learned how to do salutations to the sun. Now I do my own bastardized version that focuses on my problem areas. Pro shop lady got there about 730. She took my money before telling me I couldn't go till 830 without groundskeepers approval. So I went for coffee with my lady and was 10 mins late getting back to the course. No problem I was on the tee in 3 seconds.

I have no idea where my 1st drive went on 1. Things steadily improved from there. Yada yada yada. 3 pars. 2 bogeys. No birdies but 6 or 7 chances from 20 to 30 feet. There was a four putt double bogey on the back after a 4 iron got me pin high right edge 15 feet from the cup. Hit a 5 wood 15 feet short of the pin from 195 on 17, but I had lost my first shot to the right off the tee.

So I finish up on 18. Walk to my truck. Etc. When I backed out of the parking spot and put it in drive, the passenger rear tire declared ENOUGH. It didn't feel flat until I got on the road. Pulled over. Yup, flat. I don't have a Jack. AAA got there in half an hour. Couldn't get the wheel off with his battery powered impact drill. Claimed the studs were stripping. He says flatbed is on its way estimated 24 mins away. 1.75 hours later I find myself complaining to AAA on the phone. They had a guy en route within 10 mins. Got to the dealership and they put my spare on for 20 bucks.

I woke up about an hour ago and today is my scheduled day off. I think this new schedule is setting me up perfectly for off day rounds at dawn.

Emergency 10.5 holes after work. No warm up, 1st hole 495y par 5. Hit a good 3 wood and had 235y left (was playing a touch downwind and to the left. Hit 3 hybrid to here:



Where the pitch mark was and where it ended up it had to just miss the lip.

Then go to the 2nd tee and manage to thin a 3 hybrid into a tree right off the tee. Find it (nearly OB) and have 253y straight downwind. Hits pin high and rolls out to 40 feet. Ensuing putt hits the stick and stays out.

Third hole is a 535y par 5 with carry to the green. Hit a really good drive and have 243y left. Hit 3 hybrid again but pull it a touch and am in greenside bunker. Shot is millimeters from hitting the cup but rolls out to 20 feet. Miss it and make par.

So with a total of about 1 inch I could have started albatross, birdie, eagle. Instead I was -2.

Nothing else interesting happens and finish even par.

Approximately +8 for 11 holes. No birdies, one double bogey.

Slightly warmer than the forecast this afternoon and not nearly as windy as yesterday so it was fine to get out there.

Pleasantly surprised that there were only a couple trees down, a reasonable number of branches and sticks and not much other damage.



Couldn't compress the ball at all, no surprise after a multi week layoff. Still a good time.

Lost my first 2 tee shots. Time for glasses. Had a few low % birdie chances. Two long putts and a close proximity chip. One medium % birdie chance from 10 feet. Didnt make any. One par over 9 holes. 40 degrees at 1pm. 47 degrees in the sun at 2pm. 40 degrees at the 9th hole made me put my winter hat back on before striking a very pure and straight 5 iron to the back of the green.

1st shot no warm up off a awkward winter tee which was ball above the feet basically pee rolled 170 down the middle, After that it went pretty bliss until the 9th. I shot 77 here last time and had a 1 over back 9 with a triple 2 bogeys and 4 birdies. I've played here a couple of times and the front 9 is defo the harder 9. Not sure what went wrong today. Need to be better on the Par's in general. Miss the green to much. Putting has been meh for a while so many 3 putts creeping into my game. Used to be quite common where I could go without a 3 putt throughout a round now that seems a bit impossible

Pretty happy with the 79 to be honest but given the front it was a little disappointing.

Slightly unofficial 46 on par 34. Saw my tee shot on 1 draw around the trees separating the 1st and 5th fairways. I was the only player on the course as far as I could see so I looked long and hard but couldn't find it. Dropped between the trees so I wouldn't have a clear shot to the green. Hit 3rd from there. That was the only lost ball. Ugly double bogey on par 5 second hole. 3rd is the hardest hole on the course(imo; scorecard says its second hardest behind the par 5 second hole). Large trees prevent cutting the 90 degree right hand corner for me. I pushed a 3 wood slightly but it flew straight enough to make it by the tree that forms the corner. It was about as far right as I could have hit it without hitting trees. Found center fairway from 165. Hit 4 iron pretty thin. Came out low but cleared the stream in front of the green. Putt from 15 feet curled a little left but lipped out on the high side. Tap in par. Then tap in par on easy par 3. Caught a couple old timers on 5 and they waited to let me through. So I pulled hooked it left rough very short. 3 wood to the fringe, unfortunately it was on the fringe of the 1st green. The rest was basically what I expected. Didnt make any more pars. Hit 7th green. Got out of greenside bunker to 15 feet on 9.

Went out for an emergency 9 this afternoon. 10-15 mph wind where it is into me or the death wind of right to left on 8 of the 9 holes. Lost 5 balls in 4 holes. In particular the 3rd hole, par 5. Tee shot left into water. Drop and 3rd shot left into water. Drop and 5th shot left and into the water. Figured it out after that and played decent.

Actually got the course early for once and managed to hit some balls on the range. Tested out the PRGR launch monitor, As expected from the small amount of shots I hit, I swing at around 90mph. I haven't trained with the speed sticks yet though, So will be interesting to see what I can gain if at all. From what I can tell it's actually pretty accurate with the numbers relative to what I see on the course and on my shot scope.

Round today was just a average round of golf. 1st I hit a really decent drive I had about 190 to the back pin and some how I've hit it about 210 and it's gone off the back.

Hole 13 is driveable (Even for me) I think it's playing around 230-240ish, I hit a decent one and got on the front edge of the green, I had about 30 feet for eagle. Wasn't going to leave it short. Actually thought I hit a pretty decent putt. All up hill left to right swing on it shaved the hole but went about 8 feet by. Missed the 1 coming back standard 3 putt par

Made to many small errors today if I just took a bit of time and gave some of the shots a bit more attention then I think I'd have a much better score.

Think I have 1 more round before X-mas which is planned. Could get a couple more in now friends are off work though.

Played a local muni today. We were the only idiots out there as it had rained all morning. Played 3 6 hole matches 2-man scramble. To say the greens were slow would be a massive understatement. Always fun to play the muni's on occasion.

Lifted some weights after work before this : Hooked 1st tee shot into adjacent fairway. Wedge to back rough. chip and 2 putts for tap in bogey 1.

Couldnt get a tee in the ground After the first hole because it had only got up to 30 degrees by 1130am. 3 wood off turf on par 5 second hooked it into left rough. Bad lie. 5 wood flirted with out of bounds left. Tried to punch 4 iron to good layup instead of accepting the generous fairway 210 yards from the green. It made it about 15 feet from me, and was out of bounds by a pace. Punched out sideways to 185 uphill in 30 degrees. 5 wood to back right rough. Tough chip down the hill to 10 feet. Disaster 1.

3 iron to the corner of right angle dogleg right center fairway. Hit it dead straight just right of aiming point. Flirted with the big corner tree. Center fairway 162 left. Hooked 5 iron left of the left bunker(I knew my clubface was closed at address. Didnt regrip and paid the price). Tough pitch over the bunker to 15 feet. Tap in bogey 2.

Pitching wedge to 8 feet went right at the pin just a few paces short. Tap in par.

Lost tee shot. Drop. Hit. Never saw it in the sun. Drop. Disaster 2.

6 iron to back left rough a foot from fringe. Putter to 5 feet. Miss. Tap in bogey 3.

8 iron to back right rough. Chip was 12 feet short. Tap in bogey 4.

8 iron to corner of 60 degree dogleg left. Pushed 7 iron short right rough. Chip 20 feet short. Tap in bogey 5.

Lets not discuss 9.

Got to play golf in Denver two days before Christmas, so that’s something.

Glad it wasn’t for a score as there was a lot of ugliness but it was great to get some sunshine and fresh air.

Onto 2022 golf

well, a week ago i was planning on playing on sunday, then things changed a bit.

No score, don't care. It turned out to be a nice afternoon, sunny, no wind and 42 degrees, so we ventured out for a 9 hole walk, featuring a variety of golf shots many bad. Only three other cars in the lot when we got there and one came after we teed off.

Thankful for the opportunity, you never know when or if there will be a chance to play golf on Christmas in Michigan -- two feet of snow is much more likely.

5 birdies, 4 bogeys (2 of them the 3-putt variety)

Perfect conditions. Around 75 by the end of the round and virtually no wind. Had what probably was my iron striking round ever. Had a putt for 69 on 18 but it was a solid 50 feet away. Wasn't going to leave it short, and I sent it 10 feet by.

I think I lipped out or burnt the edge on 4-5 birdie putts today.
