No consistency lots of poor chips and fluffed pitches, although I did get steadily better as the round went on and finished with a birdie.

went on mapmyrun.com and measured that one hole on the crazy carry hole at the indian wells course i played.

seems like it is:

255 yards into the wind for your ball to just make it out of the tees and desert brush. make it a few yards on the fairway - and there is very little rough before that

275 yards into the wind to make it comfortably on the fairway. crazy stuff....

tried to link it into this page but can't seem to figure it out.

Was way to nice a day to sit inside so walked another 18. Glad I did, magically I all of the sudden knew how to golf again. Came out of nowhere, was getting good distance on the driver all of the sudden.

1st time ever breaking 80!!!!! No doubles. No penalties. 2 birdies.

Could easily have scored better but played the last 2 holes for bogie because I was nervous and did not want to blow it like I have in the past. I did not want to lose a ball off the tee on either hole.

That changed once they added the strokes gained data. It started showing up and was a software fix so the original unit does it assuming you tag the shot. You can also do it afterwards manually if you don't like tagging putts.

two 3-putts (greens haven't recovered from punching. nasty. like trying to read a waffle iron)

Couldn't replicate last weeks two solid rounds, shot a very disappointing 32 stableford points in comp today. 55 / 54 for a net 76 (+4. 33hcap today)

Couple of good drives, not one single decent iron shot and the greens were lightning fast with a few questionable pin positions. Managed three pars, and had birdie puts lip out on two of them. Still chasing a bird in a comp round!

Yesterday i found out what it feels like to get a hole in one 142 yards.

I hit a sweet 9 iron in with a lot of draw, flag back left. Ball pitched on slope and started tracking directly towards the hole. Slowly Slowly Slowly... The ball disappears. My heart stops and i wait for my partners reaction. He turns round and looks at me with a stunned look on his face.. OMG is it happening.

Sadly no.. the ball was a foot behind the flag. The flag perfectly obscured the ball. You can imagine the painful disappointment !

I know the feeling! I dream of aces... And considering this is a poker forum - not the poker kind! I had a perfect tee shot the other week at a tiny local country course and put it 8 inches from the cup... Bittersweet 2 that was
