Monday and Wednesday - shot a 76 and then a 75

first was on a par 70 golf course (Tullamore) , playing off my new handicap of 7, Standard Scratch was the par, so after one round off 7 (6.5), i was straight back to 6 (6.3). Course isn't too difficult and alot of the time I was hitting quite short irons in for my approach shots, so it was a confidence boosting round more than anything in preparation for Yesterday

Yesterday, I played on my home course, in Athlone. Much tougher, par 71. Two birdies, 4 bogeys and 1 double bogey on the opening hole. Brilliant 75 and cut a bit more, down to a 5.7. Much more like it, but need to get back inside 5 again soon Drove the ball brilliantly, and hit more than 50% greens in regulation. Can't wait to get back on the golf course!

Shot 58 on the front at Whirlpool. Played from the blues (3387 yds, 71.9/123)

It's the first time I've golfed and never took a mulligan, lost my ball or took a more than generous drop. My short game was pretty good for my skill level and I had several 2 putts. I hit a lot of 6 irons and was not swinging the driver very hard.

Definitely the best round in my limited golfing experience, and it's on one of the toughest in the area.

To top it off we stopped at the 18th green to practice getting up and down from a hill. I failed on my first attempt but on my second I holed that mother out from 30 feet. Walked off the course after that feeling pretty good.

Back to back 96s. Three putting absolutely everything, driving like a champ.

Yesterday the two guys my friend and I were paired up with found a packet of blow on one of the teeboxes. They proceeded to rail some by the next hole. Friend and I are back and forth whether or not they found it, or "found" it.

Today we golfed with two elderly Chinese gentlemen with the funniest swings but ridiculously good consistency. They can't have been worse than 10 over. One was rocking the Honma 10 and 11 irons -- so ballin.

47-48 Coyote Creek Tournament Course

i haven't played Whirlpool in about 20 years. it was beautiful when i played it and i assume it has only gotten better?

The first time I played Whirlpool (like 2 months ago) I thought I was walking a PGA course on a Sunday afternoon. Everything was pristine and I thought "This is what you pay for."

Yesterday the greens were so sunbaked they looked to have bunkers on them from a distance. I wasn't impressed but I only paid $31 to play.

I'm very new to golf (obviously) so I can't really compare it to much but it is a pleasure to play on.

maybe i'll try to get to Whirlpool before the year is over. the other Canadian course i really enjoy is Loch Ness links (formerly Hunters Pointe).

let me know if you are ever in need of a golf partner. it's tough convincing any of my friends to play anywhere other than our local course.

I love lochness links, i actually planned to play there this weekend but they are holding their club championship. I'm playing Legends Battlefield instead, and then heading to the casino to play some pokahs

Had about 3 or 4 bad holes all day, otherwise I played some solid golf. Great day for it today too, the weather was perfect.

9.1 handicap now, it's plumetting like a rock.

I had no idea Loch Ness was so upscale. Now I want to play it too.

It's awesome imo. It's a tough as nails layout though with amazing greens, always in tip top shape too.

Holes 9 and 18 at Loch Ness are awesome. it's been awhile since i played there and i'm sure there are some other holes that are fantastic but i just can't think of them.

if you guys ever need another player i'm game. i live in Buffalo but Canadian courses are my favorite by far.

have never played Legends though.

38 (par 35). Three bogeys - two off lousy tee shots, one off a failed up and down from just off the green. Irons are really dialed in, driver is still iffy. Playing in a club tournament this weekend.

shot 44-39(par 35 9 hole course)... my previous best 9 this year had been 43, I have played awful this year... my handicap went from 14ish to 18.9, every score but 2 now this year have been in the 90s according to my handicap listing... so bad. I was a 9.5 just 2 or so years ago. Finally today I put the ball way back in my stance and stuck 5 irons in a row, hitting 5 strait greens which I never ever do... Usually my short game gets me my pars not my iron game. Have a 2 man scramble tourney tomorrow where your combined handicap has to be 25 so we should do pretty good there.

4 bogeys 4 doubles for an 83 at my new club. Doubled the 300 yard par 4 & the 360 yard par 4.

I also had a totally bulsh double where I hit a 5 wood from 215 right at the pin and it went in to the back bunker stone cold dead and i hit it to 40 feet and 3 putted.

Playin' an event. 2 man. Today was 9 holes of scramble (-2) and 9 holes of alternate shot (+4). Good times, mediocre score.

Fun factoids:

-I've used the same ball for all 36 holes

-I had two birdies in a row. One was the drivable par 4 that I doubled yesterday. I pulled it into what I thought as the creek but it was just barely up and in some thick rough about 25 yards short of the green. Hacked a beautiful flop to 10 feet and made putt. Next hole I hit a 310 yard drive and then hit a 3 wood on the green on a par 5 that I have never been within 80 yards of the green before (played course ~25 times in my life.)

-I threw away a shot with a terrible chip on #9 and was not making my normal share of putts. Could've been a 75-76...would've felt good.

-Played only a couple of times in last few months and am happy that my game is where its at. Found out club championship is Aug 20th. Considering.

18 yesterday, 45-47-92. 8/14 fairways, 2/18 greens, 32 putts. rough round after the midweek PB, but the last 6 holes it was pretty much impossible to see the ball due to darkness. i walked off the 18th hole at 11:20pm lol. it stays light much longer here in the far north, so i had to try and take advantage.

played another 18 today, 43-41-84. 5/14 fairways, 6/18 greens, 32 putts. ball striking was much better, putting was okay although it could have been a little better. definitely starting to see some better scores, as the 84 is my personal best on 18 holes

76 in a 2 man scramble. He is an 11, I'm a 19... was the worst we have ever shot... we even played from the whites, hell we have shot 65 before. We just couldn't get up and down for anything, we were 1 for 10 on opportunities(4 of those were to get up and down for birdies)... I doubt I have chipped worse in 10 years.

Legends of Battlefield wasn't bad today. Greens were a bit bumpy and the course was holding a lot of water in spots, but otherwise I enjoyed it.

Event, day 2. 9 holes of best ball (-5), 9 holes of total team score (+6).

One of the stranger, more frustrating days I've had on a golf course. I shot 39-44-83 with 3 birdies, 2 doubles, a triple and a quad. After about a month of great ball striking with the irons it completely vanished today. I sprayed the ball all over the place, chunked a whole series of iron shots, shanked a couple wedges and a bunker shot and just generally stunk up the joint. I did have four birdie putts on par 3s of six feet or less but I only made one of them.

Finished one shot out of the money and I just happened to make triple on the last hole for absolutely no damn reason. Stupid ****ing game.

45-47-45-137 over 27 holes. 12/21 fairways, 7/27 greens, 49 putts.

it was a breezy, rainy kind of day today, but the rain kinda' came and went and never got too heavy. perfect temp, and overall the conditions were okay. wasn't making the putts today, and melted down on too many holes. 9 pars, 10 bogeys, 5 doubles, 3 triples on the day.

my driving was bad for most of the day, far too many scrambling second shots made for a tough day.

I think it's a par 69 course (3 par 3s, 15 par 4s), and i've played about ten rounds of the 9 hole since I got my clubs 3 months ago (though I missed out the whole of June). Before that I played about 5-6 9 hole rounds with my friends borrowing their clubs. I hit 250 balls at a driving range last week and I've watched quite a lot of golf (both on TV and youtube lessons) as well as reading a lot of magazines/instructional material. I played a few 9 hole rounds last season but this summer is the first time i've taken it seriously.

Like a lot of people on this forum I can get pretty obsessive about things once I get into them, and golf feels a bit like an addiction right now.
