our pro put out a set of g30 irons, s - 6, $500 cdn. i'm taking them for a week test drive. i'm on my second set of AP2's, which i love, but i'm getting old, and i might need a lighter set of irons. the AP's are great...but they are pretty heavy.

I have demo'ed them on the range. Not really much different than the G30's (which I game). Maybe a touch better like everything else. Probably not worth the increase in price IMO. Going new you do have the option of customizing them though if need be.

humnha'd all week. like their power and light feel. sticking with my ap2's, though. plan to choke down half an inch. i really don't need any more distance.

I've just been a weekend golfer who has probably shaved off 7 strokes average since beginning of last year - shoot high 80s low 90s constantly I baught new irons because I was hitting old graphites that were my first set.. Now have cobra fly z + steel. Love them so far obviously getting used to hitting further n just more solid.

Would be in my best interest to get them fitted? I'm trying take golf more serious now 2-3 times a week when can. Pros n cons?? Not sure if matters how tall I am. 5'9

spray some doctor sholes stuff on the sole of the club and see were you are hitting the ground. If it is even across then the lie angles are fine. As for length it depends on not just your height but arm length ect.

Any recs on a first set for GF. Getting her lessons and a set to learn with. She's 5'7 w/ a decently athletic swing if it matters.

I want to get a new push cart. I'm really leaning towards the Clicgear 3.5+. Kind of spendy though. Anyone have one of these? Good/bad? Other cart recommendations?

I have a Clicgear 3.0 and it's awesome. Really stable, sturdy and tons of accessories. I've had it for 3-4 years and all I've had to do is change the brake-wire which broke at one point (and that was probably because I'd frequently use it as a brake when going down hills which it isn't really meant for I guess...).

Quick to open and fold and folded it gets really compact so it even fits into my, rather smallish, trunk along with my bag.

Awesome, thank you. I really like the idea of being able to adjust the front wheel since the one I have now never rolls straight. Tilts me something fierce. And the way the Clicgear mounts the front wheel seems like it will stay in position whereas the other models could easily get bumped out of position.

Yea, the wheel stays pretty straight. I did have to adjust it once, but it was a quick procedure and it has stayed straight since then.

It's one of those products where you can really tell it's solid quality all through. The only bad part I've experienced was the attachable umbrella holder that followed the cart. It screws onto the cart handle, but if you screw it a little tight, the screw just slips out of the holder and breaks.

They do have a much better, high quality, one but it has to be bought separately - worth the price if you play a lot in rainy conditions though.

I need to up my purchase game I see. I did get a 50* Vokey to replace my gap wedge. My bag is pretty set now. Although I do have a fitting appointment for some AP2's on Thursday.

i second everything here...also have a 3.0. i also needed to replace the brake wire, but it didn't break because i use it going downhill. i think they just eventually wear out from the constant flipping of the brake lever. the replacement is <$10, so nbd.

I always liked Leupold's interfaces better, but it's all personal preference, can't go wrong with either.

re: rangefinders. just find one that let's you semi-accurately shoot a distance to something other than the pin (which typically has the reflectors in the shaft). often times you want to know a carry distance or leave it short distance, and when you have a range finder that allows you to accurately shoot to a rock or bunker face, it's so much more useful.

Clicgear for life. I walk about 70-80 rounds a year and absolutely love my Clicgear. I actually broke one a few years ago and went straight to golftown to buy another one. Highly recommended

Love my bushnell. It's all I've ever used. I also regularly use it to ping non flagstick items for layups and carry distances. Typically trees work best, but I've hit high bunker lips before and ornamental decorations.

is the knock on skycaddie the LOLsubscription they make you buy for the courses?

love my sky caddie, but when I used it, you downloaded the courses and were done, don't think I had to pay a subscription.
