Love getting a new bag. I'm going to continue to wear mine down but I'll be buying Sun Mountain again when I do.

I got a black C-130 in May and love it. Fits great on my ClicGear4.0.

Yeah I had a Sun Mountain one before and was very good. However, I think the Ping Hoofer edges it slightly personally. I had the Hoofer Lite 2021 version and it was a solid bag. Was getting a bit worn out few little rips and the strap was starting to come apart. I have the Ping hoofer monsoon as well for the wet honestly though that bag sucks ass. I hate it, hard to get into pockets, obviously built to keep the water out and it does that really well but everything else sucks.

caveat: almost always pushing strapped to clicgear; rarely carry, only ride when mandated by tourney or terrain, but never because torrential rain

i've had sun mountain bags for ages
seasonally rotating between the 3.5 and H2NO
also umbrellas are for mary poppins
the rest of us heaviy invest in gortex

have bagged the H2NO now for a few hundred rounds over a dozen years or so including intercontinental travel and only recently started showing show signs of wear around frequent touch pocket areas and surfaces that face the sky.

was advised by a friend who learned the hard way to never overstuff the pockets with rain gear and stress the zippers - wise words
the rain hood also spreads wide enough to cover clubs without needing to zip it up every time

congrats on your new wedges bebe, i'm jealous
played volkey for decades yet somehow strayed toward callaway max a few year ago, suppose because i was also playing apex irons and hybrids but been thinking recently it may be time to rewind the mixed bag even further

I switched from Cleveland CBX to a set of Vokey SM9s (46-50-54-58) with the KBS tour lite S shafts and K and F grinds. The difference is night and day honestly.

Possibly break them in tomorrow. Although I'm playing really well right now so maybe I just carry them and game my old wedges until I hit a slump.

Finally decided to upgrade the 5w from my TaylorMade V-Steel with a steel shaft (c2001) for this guy. The DeathStar is now complete.

I got the new P790’s 2 days ago. Only played 1 and a bit rounds with them so far. Taking a little adjusting from the stealths I was using. With the stealths I felt I had to not have as much shaft lean at address cause when I hit it solid the ball would just over draw and go left on me. 790’s I’m still trying to find that sweet spot at address. They are a lovely looking club though. I kept the 4 iron in the stealths and just got PW-5. 4 iron in the stealth is so good for me it just goes.

I didn’t get the 790’s fitted as I didn’t want t to wait as I’m going away soon. I didn’t get the same shaft though of course not really how you should go about things but thought at least I can go with a shaft I know.

Only differences I can tell is the ball comes out at a bit of a flatter flight but I’ve yet to hit one super solid.

Ordered a couple dozen Titleists, since I was at it I shopped for a 7 wood for myself and a 9 wood for a gift, man clubs (even used ones) are ridiculous. $300-350 for a used fairway?

My Cleveland Halo XL 5w (pic a few posts up) was used in 9/10 condition with a standard shaft and it cost me $190. I know Cleveland isn't a fancy brand, but it does exactly what it needs to do. I love it. You get into sexy shafts and big-name brands and the cost can explode, even on used clubs. So, yeah. You can get to $300 easily.

End of year sale put on by a bunch of private and semi-private clubs in the area with clearout gear.

Grabbed a Ping G430 Max 3-wood, 15*, AltaCB S-65 shaft. Had to finish this year with no 3w in the bag because the face on my G400 caved so needed a replacement.

On another note -- anyone have any opinions on electric walking carts? More and more folks at my club are using them and I've been interested. Seems like Motocaddy's are solid.

It's pretty geeky, no doubt. But since joining a club, outside of any client hosting (clients never want to walk), I walk 100% of my rounds. Pushing even good quality push carts eventually takes a toll on the shoulders and lower back, hunched over. And I'm a young guy saying this. I want to be able to golf til the bitter end.

I know a few guys that got them, pretty much without exception they love them. Obviously saves some wear and tear on the body. It's still amusing to me to watch the cart follow them around.

When I was growing up my grandparents had Kangaroo Caddy electric push carts, which used car or boat batteries (lithium ion was long in the future), they walked every round way past retirement age.

Bought a used Bushnell Tour 5 shift today for $110. I'm looking forward to using the Jolt feature. The one I have now doesn't vibrate when it locks on to the pin.

Been a while…

but in the market for some golf grips. Right now I have the Tour velvet I’ve had them on my irons for about 5 months and they are getting like holding soap. I am someone who tries to take care of my clubs with cleaning them and making sure I don’t leave them in my car. I actually cleaned them yesterday with soapy water. Felt great was lovely having that tacky feel back. However, I felt them getting quite slippery towards the end of today’s round.

Personally I have pretty dry hands and rarely sweat. I will play in the rain but wear rain gloves so shouldn’t be a problem. Can anyone recommend me a decent grip? I’ve always gone with golf pride before but I have a couple of old clubs that have Larkin grips on and they seem sound. They are hand me downs and I’ve never really used the clubs so not sure how often they’ve been used.

golf pride new decade multicompound have been what i use to regrip my own clubs for quite a while now.
may not be the best for a specific condition but they are like all weather tires and will get you there under almost any circumstance without needing to change them out for something else

I like the MCC, but they wear out too quickly for me. I recently went to full cord for the first time in a long time, and like them well enough.

That said - the trusty Tour Velvet remains a great choice as it's about half the price of the MCC or cord.

I also like the CP2 Wrap quite a bit.

I had the Tour Velvet and they seemed to wear pretty quickly, I ended up with Lamkin UTX. They were suggested that they were the most tacky. When they got delivered and took them out had a feel they felt not so tacky, Ended up fitting them and played with them today and they were pretty decent to be fair.

Need to go back to my old Taylormade TP glove though. That actually fit my hand really well. Found a good deal for the Callaway dawn patrol gloves and they are good lasting gloves but something about them just doesn't fit right.

I hadn't posted here about my revamped bag, finally updated clubs, I had got my driver in 2010, irons/hybrid/fairway woods in 2000-2002. Went with:

TaylorMade Qi35 Max 10.5 turned down 1* - got in excellent condition used for $240
Cobra DS-Adapt 3w - demo club $199
Callaway Elyte Heavenwood - demo club $199
Callaway Elyte 4h - Callaway Pre-Owned excellent condition $130
Callaway Elyte 5-W - Callaway Pre-Owned still in plastic $620

Was very pleased with quality for cost. Have gamed them a few rounds, def making a lot of things easier. Scores haven't reflected yet, but it's coming. I was E thru 6 yesterday as a 16.8.

Nothing new today, but I’ve been checking out a few budget-friendly upgrades lately. Some players are talking about newer laser rangefinders like Mileseey Golf models as a solid option for accuracy without spending too much, so that’s been on my radar while I decide what to try next.
