Seems like we are close to having a distance vs dispersion vs course parameters solution. Wherein the optimal line is given?.? When would you expect such an app? will it be pared with rangefinder at first? If you were to teach a junior golfer would you bother with course management as it will be solved shortly?
As an aside do you feel like this is kind of a shame for golf. For instance I lost interest in poker when it became a memorization exercise rather than a creativity/problem solving challenge... end rant
