Even money none of the four break a buck from the tips, if they play strict rules of golf. (And how would we know that?)

At the moment, there is no market on Tiger missing / making the cut at PaddyPower.

Tiger is (1) at 2-1

Phil is (2) at 8-1

Scott is (7) at 33-1

Surely the market is a testament to Tiger's extraordinary reputation. I'd say he's 2-1 to withdraw, 5-1 to make the cut (no lads, I'm not making book), and off the board to win. Rusty? Coming off knee surgery? U.S. Open set-up? My word, even Superman was vulnerable to kryptonite...

I am of similar mind, and delighted at all the value to be had becasue of Tiger skewing the betting.

I'll take the field... Wonder how long they are going to let the rough grow this year... 5"+??? In any case, it's going to be nasty

Tiger started the year strong but declined up until the Masters. I would hazard a guess that the time he has taken off and fixing his knee should counteract the downsides of not playing for that length of time. Basically - it's all a wash.

Phil and Sergio have been playing well of late, so you could probably bump up their numbers a bit. Other than that, that should give you a pretty good strength rating.

ur retarted its lik 36 33 31

84 is pretty solid, what is Romos' HC?

Wow.

He's the guy I was worried about, on the ground that he's a professional competitor, comfortable under pressure (the toughest cash players I ever competed -- poorly -- against were a pro hockey player and a pro baseball player.

But 84 is just totally, off-the-wall impressive...

I think he almost qualified (or played reasonably in a US open Qual?)

"Romo, a 3-handicapper, led the pack with a jaw-dropping 84"

http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_pag...u_sid=10352425

I'd guess if he only played golf he'd be at least a borderline pro/Nationwide tour/ok chance at Q school?

Edit:I can't find Tiger's exact quote from last year as to any amateur or 10 hdcp, but I'm guessing that he didn't have a football pro with a 3 hcp in mind.

Tiger was right. He said a 10 handicapper couldn't break a hundred on this course. Timberlake and Lauer are both 6 handicapper.

Article that I read said he's a 2.2

Its a little strange that he tried to qualify, because I thought you had to be 1.4 or below. I've seen 2.2 also in a few different articles, so I'm not sure how he was able to try. Must have gotten an exemption or something.

I would agree, but is it a worse bet than backing Tiger to win at 2/1?

It's slightly worse. With the interruption to his preparation I'd put Tiger at 5/1 to win and 25/1 to miss the cut. If he had a normal prep. then 2/1 would be about the right price given where the tournament is being played.

Here's why it's bad:

1. If he doesn't start, the bet is void.

2. If he doesn't finish 36 holes, it's void, too.

3. I can't take it back...

(I'd reckoned the most likely scenario was that he'd withdraw, sometime between two days ago and hole 35. Probably Friday morning... Still do...)
